Fred Lawrence Simons, 66, passed away at the emergency room in Poplar on May 4, 2018. Fred was born February 29, 1952 to Edward and Bernadine (Myrick) Simons in Poplar. Growing up in Poplar, he liked to go hunting and fishing with his dad. He attended Poplar High School where he played basketball. Then he left Poplar for Haskell, UT where he received his GED. After getting his GED, Fred worked various jobs like working in the oilfields, farming and ranching. He also did remodeling and renovations with Paul Pryor of Crow, MT who was one of his good friends. Fred also liked to race horses that he had.
In the months before his death, Fred enjoyed spending quality time with his grandson, Adrian, who adored his papa and loved playing with him. Fred always had a great sense of humor and teased everyone. Fred was a great father to his daughters, who loved him dearly.
Fred is survived by his brother Darren, his children Fran, Aimee, Chrissy, Jessica, and Brandi, also his many grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Ed Simons.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, May 18 at the Poplar Cultural Center. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
