Jayden James Joe, 17, of Wolf Point, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 14th, 2017. As a child, Jayden took the Lord as his Savior and was baptized in the Morning Star Baptist Church. He was born December 27th, 1999 in Wolf Point, to Michelle Barsness and James Joe. He was a Junior at the Wolf Point High School.
Jayden was a kind-hearted, fun-loving, young man who brought laughter and happiness to our lives. If you were having a tough day, Jayden was always the first one to attempt to cheer you up. He was loved by everyone who met him. When you mention Jayden’s name a humorous story always follows. To his Grandmother Mary’s delight, he never left home without saying I love you.
Jayden developed a passion for cooking in hopes of attending culinary school. His love for the culinary arts was due largely to the staff at Old Time Grill where he was currently employed as a cook. Jayden was a people-person. This had a huge influence in the success of J&H Snokones; which was his first foray into business. Every Stampede a line could be seen as Jayden and his lifelong friend Haron, served up cold treats.
Jayden enjoyed listening to music ranging from country to rock. He loved spending time with his friends or taking an evening cruise with his mom. He loved life, he loved people and we are going to miss our Jayden
Jayden is preceded in death by his loving father James Joe, Papa Ken Barsness; Aunt Mona Joe; Uncle Mitch Barsness; Grandmas Gladys Frost and Jackie Anderson; Great Aunt Midge Barsness, along with many other relatives that touched his life.
Jayden is survived by his mother Michelle Barsness, brother Justin Joe of Wolf Point; brother Josh(Shyla) Joe of Kayenta, AZ; sister Lynnaya(Hector) Joe of Kayenta, AZ. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother Mary Barsness of Wolf Point; paternal grandparents Angela(Ernest) Joe of Kayenta, AZ; T.J. Joe of Utah; adopted Grandpa Bob Helmer of Wolf Point. He is survived by his uncles Tyrone(Debi) Ricker of Poplar; Bill(Lucy) Joe of Kayenta, AZ; Anthony Joe of Arizona; Emerson(Chamese) Joe of California; as well as his aunts Peggy Miller of Enumclaw, WA; Ashley(Micha) Camenzind of Havre; his nephews Jayvian, Chase, Camilo, Mateo, Niko and his nieces Niya and Hailey. Numerous cousins and extended families in which many “adopted” him as their own.
Jayden, you may no longer be by our side but you will be forever in our hearts.
Viewing and prayer services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at Clayton Stevenson’s Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. The waves of grief will continue to crash over you as you embark on this journey; but know that the prayers, hugs, and comforting words are genuine and sincere, Michelle! No parent should ever have to say good bye to their children like this. It will never make sense no matter how hard you try to. I learned a lot about myself after we lost Tanner. I learned that it’s okay to ask for help. I learned that it takes a lot of energy to be strong. I learned that God is big enough to handle our pain and is always there for us to run to. I learned that it’s okay to be angry. I learned that to keep my son’s memory alive I needed to talk about him….don’t ever stop sharing your precious Jayden with the world. But most of all I learned the true meaning of support from people who truly care. Please know that I am praying for you, Michelle. If you need to talk or cry, please call me… 608-633-3135!
