Laverne Rae Dupree Two Hearts, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Billings Advanced Care Hospital after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Laverne passed away peacefully with her family beside her.
She was born on January 11, 1948 to Beatrice Rosebud and Raymond Dupree, Sr. at Poplar, MT. Laverne graduated from Flandreau, SD and later married Francis Two Hearts at Portland, OR and later divorced.
Laverne “Granny” loved the Lord, her Savior. She enjoyed going to revivals, Bible studies and watching live Jimmie Swaggert Church services on Sundays.
Granny also liked to fix 100 piece puzzles, quilting star quilts, going for rides, she was an avid Elvis Presley fan and collected Elvis CD’s and memorabilia, and going fishing with her sister Donna. Laverne helped take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her “Granny”.
Laverne is survived by her daughter, Nanette Two Hearts of Rapid City, SD, Corey Two Hearts of Minot, ND, Leroy Keener of Washington, Terry (Diane) Two Hearts of Poplar, MT and Joseph Two Hearts of Poplar, MT; grandchildren Faith, Gary III and Jesse Red Eagle and 2 great grandchildren; sister Donna Follet and family, brothers Harold Dupree, Sr and family and Calvin Dupree and a special sister-in-law Vivian D. Jones; nieces Earlene (Michael J.) Ackerman, DeAnna (Sam) Red Star, Marta Jones, Millie Follet and family, Francine Bissonette and family, Shyann, Billie Rae, Raylene and Sammie Dupree and families and Becky Bird and family; nephews Bill (Nancy) Jones, Abel Jr, Royce and Roman Follet, Raymond Dupree, Jr., Murray, Dean and Brian Dupree.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Earl Jones, Jr., Raymond Jr., Leonard, Wendall and Darrell Dupree; sister Rita Mae Jones; son Francis Two Hearts, Jr.; nephews Darrell and Earl “Chubbs” Jones and special cousin Etta Fast Horse Youpee.
Granny also helped take care of nephews, nieces and grandchildren Matthew, Myles, Brent, Heather, Tina, Duran, Raina, Samilynn, Earl, William, Antoinette, Mia, Hunter, Azalea, Brent Jr and special great grandson Eli. Granny loved all the children in her life and was dedicated to taking care of them until her death.
