Our beloved Sister, Mother, Auntie, Grandma, Maxine Sharon Grant passed away on Friday December 15, 2017 in Denver Colorado following a long illness.
She was born on November 8, 1955 to Paul Grant and Zelda Lester. Maxine attended schools in Poplar and Ogden, Utah. She later attended college in Poplar and went on to be a counselor at Spotted Bull treatment center. Maxine married Perry Lee Greybull on January 18, 1980 to this union they had 2 sons Royce Perry Greybull and Travis Dale Greybull. Maxine enjoyed riding around from sun up till sun down and listening to old school music. She also enjoyed her shopping with her 2 granddaughters. She also loved going to rodeos and spending time with her family, sometimes making the long drive just to come visit.
Maxine is survived by her husband Perry Greybull of Billings, Montana; son Royce Greybull of Glendive, Montana; daughters Yolonda Walking Eagle of Billings, Montana; Ariel Grant of Billings, Montana, Tiffany Grant of Billings, Montana; a granddaughter Aria Greybull of Billings, Montana; and a granddaughter in Poplar, Montana, Markie Olson; a sister Pauline Grant of Poplar, Montana; Leah Grant of Bismarck North Dakota; three brothers Bobby Grant of Fort Yates, North Dakota, Harold Lester of Great Falls, Montana, and Leonard Grant of Poplar, Montana; nephews Tony Sepulveda, Barett Grant, Miles Grant, Floren Grant, Calvin Lester Sr. (Denise), Victor Grant Jr, and Aaron Grant all of Poplar, Montana, Darren LongHair of Fort Kipp, Montana and Dorrance Grant of Wolf Point, Montana, Lindsey Iron Road of Bismarck, North Dakota; Curtis and Jordan Forrest of Wolf Point, Montana; nieces Farrah Grant, Crystal Azure (Robert) of Poplar, Montana, Theresa Forrest of Wolf Point, Montana and Lori, Tricia, Traci, Dawn, and Monique BearCub all of Bismarck, North Dakota and Stanette Crowe; granddaughters Victoria Grant of Poplar, Montana, Gabby and Regan Camrud of Miles City, Montana; Grandsons Fred and Jr Lester of Poplar, Montana; and Great Grandsons Sebastian Lester of Fort Kipp, Montana and Kashton Lester of Riverside, Montana; and a great granddaughter Presley Lester of Parshall, North Dakota; Aunties Darlen Youpee, Anne Lester, Margaret Hapa, Yvette Todd all of Poplar, Montana and Sally Soud of California and a few special friends Carrie Burshia, Mary Follette, Marva Chapman, Paula Firemoon, Olivia Lorentz and Stacy Pipe.
Max is preceded in death by her Mother Zelda Grant; her Father Paul Grant; her son Travis Greybull; brother Victor Grant; grandmother Helen Brown; brother Malcom Grant; and a cousin Davetta Lester Looking.
Max has many more family and friends too numerous to name.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Fly High Max.
A wake will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, Montana. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Poplar Cultural Center in Poplar, Montana. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s cemetery.
