Moses continued his journey to meet God on August 27th, 2018.
The St. Germaine family has been of great importance to Moses all his life, as his grandmother Theresa St Germaine raised him and his siblings after his father died in 1940. Moses Jr was only five years old at the time. Moses was born to Moses Sr and Emma St. Germaine White Horse on December 9, 1934. His father was well known. He spent most of his life fighting for Indian rights and fair Tribal elections. He was well educated and served Secretary of the Indian Protective Assn of America in 1928.
Theresa saw to it that her grandchildren were raised in the Catholic faith. Attending Mass on Sundays and going to Sister School in the summer were part of their upbringing. Moses was an alter boy for Fr. Shevlin and remembered racing Joe Loendorf Pat and Luke Bushman between churches to see who would get to light candles.
Moses attended grade school through the 5th grade at the Pierre Indian School in Pierre, SD. He also attended school in Glasgow, Bainville, and Wolf Point. At the age of 15 he decided to join the Navy, dropped out of school. He served during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud member of the UDT (Underground Demolition Team) in Oceanside CA as part of the UDT he trained Navy personnel in what would become Navy Seals. He served aboard the USS Washburn. Once while stated on the aircraft carrier. Fr. Shannon asked for an altar server at Sunday Mass. Moses volunteered and remembered all the Latin he was taught from Fr. Shevlin. He continued to serve with the priest while he was onboard. Moses was very proud of his service record.
While serving in the Navy, he met his wife Beverly and they had two children. He spent twelve years in the Navy and after his divorce returned to Wolf Point. He renewed an old friendship with Robert Millard. Together they selflessly volunteering at the local foodbank, unloading and distributing food to the needy. He was well known for his work in the VFW and American Legion. He served as Post Commander. The display of flags was very important to him. Throughout his life his church, helping those in need and volunteering continued to be important.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Emma and Moses Sr. sisters: Lillian, Bonnie, Maude and brothers: Raymond, Burton, and Lil Tom. He is survived by his sister Mary Gourneau, his friend Rose Green, numerous nieces and nephews.

Moses Post 61 could always count on you when we were short handed for military funerals. I will always remember the good things you said to me, the encouragement and personal support.
