Billy earned his things of everyday life and he was blessed with a set kind manners, respect and an unusual sense of humor that put strangers at ease.
There is no fixed Fort Peck tribal identity – it will always be a work in progress, and will evolve in a positive way if we, individually and collectively, behave with empathy, generosity and respect towards each other like my friend Billy did.
Our hearts go out to Lambert family as they struggle though the grief and sadness…..they are in our thoughts and prayers.
Journey freely my friend.

I knew Bill from way back when we used to ride the school bus from Ft. Kipp to Brockton School. Then the whole family moved to Idaho and I lost track of him and Carl and the rest of them. I’m glad he came home – we had some good visits. See you on the other side my friend. I’ll miss you at Tribal Express.

Condolences to all of Bills Family, he was a great man. Bill was my neighbor. Will miss him stopping over early in the mornings or evenings to tell us about all the Big Bucks that ran over the hill or all the Big snakes that slithered by and to keep the weeds cut short. He will be missed. Prayers for the family.

Billy, I shall miss you my friend. I remember, you, Cecil Long and I working at A & S. Payday we’d head up to the Merc to cash our checks. I was 19 years old at the time, pregnant with my second Son. The three of us climbing the train when needed to get up to town. I remember one time you told Cecil…Cec! crawl over on the other side and spot her, I got her here. I was shocked!! I was a VERY HUGE pregnant person and I do believe Cecil was shorter than I, but to spot me if I fall jumping from the train! hahaha You were not only funny, but a very nice friend, from the beginning. I’m glad that I saw you when I did a few months ago. I got to hug you and tell you I love you. You’ve always been like family to me…you’ll forever be family to me. It was time to rest easy, so you left us ALL with happy memories and the love in your heart. Now you are with God, your Bride and your girls…please give them all hugs for me and Lawrence Allen too please.
I KNOW & BELIEVE, Heaven REJOICED!!, when you walked through those pearly gates!
Prayers of comfort to all that are still here.
