Our mom, grandma, sister, auntie, and niece, Amanda Red Eagle BullChief, 53, of Poplar, MT passed away on July 12, 2022 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT with family by her side. She was reunited with her husband Marvin, mom Beverly “Baby Lou”, brother Dean and daughter Kyleen, and son Brad. They welcomed her with open arms.
Amanda was born October 23, 1968 in Poplar, MT to Beverly “Baby Lou” Red Eagle. She grew up in Poplar and was raised by her mom and stepdad, Raymond “Bud” Good Bird. Amanda met Marvin in 1997 and they married on February 7, 1998. Together they raised their 8 children, Miranda, Renae, Kyleen, Kyle, Darris, Jason, Brad, and Quentin. On August 20, 2002 she became a grandma her first granddaughter, Jacora Youngman was born and together with Marvin, they raised her as their own; along with Daralyn and Jathan. Throughout the years, Amanda held various jobs; her favorite being a homemaker and grandma. She loved all her grandchildren very much, taking in 9 more to raise. Amanda was a very kind hearted person who would help out in any way she could. Her hobbies included playing bingo, keno machines, listening to music, and traveling to all local area powwows with Marvin and her family. Amanda enjoyed visiting her family and friends, always making the time to sit and listen to any of her sisters when they needed her. She also enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s school functions, their sports activities and games, a concert, or just a classroom project. Amanda would always be right there she was their #1 supporter.
Amanda was preceded in death by her mom, Beverly “Baby Lou” Red Eagle; stepdad, Raymond “Bud” Good Bird; brother, Raymond “Dean” Good Bird; daughter, Kyleen “Koosh” BullChief; son, Bradley BullChief; and the love of her life, soulmate, and husband, Marvin BullChief; also her grandparents, Elmer and Mary Red Eagle.
Survivors include her children, Miranda, Kyle, Darris, Renae, Jason, and Quentin; her grandchildren that she was raising, Jacora Youngman, Daralyn BullChief, Jathan Red Eagle, Jacoven Youngman, Jameryn Limberhand, Anissa, Ashlyn, Pearl, Jayden, and Jocelyn BullChief, Raylando, DaShawn, and Dreyton Red Eagle; grandchildren, Kyler Carpentier, Hailyn Red Boy, Hailese Lilly, Afton Sears, Brooklyn, Blithe, Myaunna, and Ziah BullChief, Amani, Xhayden, Vaden, and Noah BullChief, Tayawn, Kiari, Lalina, Matheau, Jahkye, and Zaviure Bull Head; sisters, Mary (Greg) Plante, Carole, Kathy, DeeDee, Glenna and Leanne (Louie) Red Eagle, Maureen (Rick) Dionne, Mazie (Arnold) Ogle Youngbird, and Susie Jones; brothers, Brian Jones and Gerred Red Eagle and Raymond “Abby” Ogle; special nieces LaRae and Lavanchie Good Bird; aunties, Gloria Garcia of San Jose, CA, Doreen Red Eagle, and Pauline Boxer of Poplar; uncles, Everet Jones of Poplar, Bob Garcia of San Jose, CA; adopted daughter, Jenn Red Thunder; sisters-in-law, Marva BullChief and Emorie Grey. She had many relatives from the Red Eagles, Ogles, Belgardes, Blounts, Fourbears and many others, sorry if we missed anyone.
A wake will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Fort Kipp Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left using the form below.
