On June 8, 2021, Mom made her final journey with her family she so greatly loved surrounded by her side.
Mom was born to Midas and Alice Cossette on June 30, 1927 in a small little French community in Horace, North Dakota. On January 17, 1949 Mom married Leo Richard after a true storybook romance. Having met only once Dad clearly found himself smitten and pursued a long-distance relationship with her through the US mail. After a very brief time she accepted a marriage proposal in the same fashion. Mom then moved to Montana where they raised 7 children together.
Mom was the true definition of the word Homemaker, she was no stranger to work and always put in the hours needed to put up with the demands for 7 children. Mom was well known for her cooking skills and her countless loaves of bread she made on a monthly basis. Her pantry was always well stocked with her garden canned goods and freezer full of her delicious baked goods. Mom would also spend endless hours sewing us new little outfits that we would all wear so proudly.
Mom lost the love of her life, December of 1997 one month from celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary. Together Mom and Dad have not only left their legacy to their 7 children, but to 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents Midas and Alice Cossette, her husband Leo Richard, her daughter Marlene Teel, 4 brothers Mike Cossette, Bob Cossette, Andrew Cossette, Tommy Cossette and 2 sisters Denise Vandal and Betty Schwab.
She is survived by her 5 daughters Joyce Richard, Ione (Spike) Iwen, Kay (Dave) Matejovsky, Karen (Tim) Sorley, Vickie (Terry) Delger, 1 son Dale Richard, 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

I am so sorry to hear about your moms passing. It just doesn’t matter our age when we lose our moms, it just plain hurts forever, my thoughts are with all of you.
Carol Simenson says
Condolences to the Richard families. Angela was such a gentle soul. May memories of her bring the family peace.
Martha Burns says
Thinking of all of you as you grieve the loss of your mother who was so very special. Surround yourself with sweet memories.

Sorry for your loss. May God comfort you all.
Mary Stromme says
I remember when Angela and Leo and their family lived for a few years in Fargo, ND in the 1960’s. Leo’s sister, Jeanette Stromme was my mother. We all enjoyed visiting with them at our house or at their home. Angela was the last of our aunt’s on the Richard side of the family. Angela’s sister Denise Vandal was my first Head Nurse at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo after I graduated from nursing school. Rest In Peace Angela.

Tim Cossette says
Aunt Angela was such a dear lady.
I will miss hearing her kind, gentle voice.
She and her sisters (my aunts) reminded me so much of their dear mother, my grandma Alice.
