Arnold Erwin Eagle Boy, Sr. of Poplar, MT went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2022. Our beloved father, grandpa, uncle passed away peacefully with family and grandkids by his side at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, MT. He was born on August 2, 1948 to Matthew Eagle Boy and Rose No Breast Eagle Boy. He was raised in Chelsea, MT and attended school in Poplar.
Dad worked at A & S Industries for a long time. The retired from there after it closed then as a CHR driver for a while. He enjoyed traveling in the big van called “Big Bertha” to Minot for State Fair and walking around. He loved going to pow-wows and visiting his brother Adrian and Peggy, who he would always ask about. He played guitar for wakes and funerals on and off the Rez with Manny Smith who thought of as a brother.
He is survived by his daughters, Steffie EagleBoy and Marcella (Chad) Kirn and son, Arnold Eagle Boy, Jr., grandkids Irwin (Crystal) Russell, Jasmyne (Jason) Hamilton, Wayne EagleBoy, Angel Whitebull, Aaron Hopkins, Logan (Mariah) Kirn, Clay (Troy) Kirn, Paegan Kirn, great grandkids Paityn and Trace Kirn, sister Gloria Buckles of Poplar, brother Adrian and Peggy Ireland of Williston, ND and the rest of his nieces and nephews, great grandkids and great great grandkids.
Arnold was the baby of all his siblings that he loved and missed so much. He had a special relationship with Shirley Sparvier, they had two daughters Steffie EagleBoy and Marcella EagleBoy, Arnold EagleBoy, Jr. came later on. Dad was the last descendant of the Eagle Boy Family.
Our extended family includes the Lambert’s and Johnson’s from Wolf Point, Ireland (Williston), Kidders and American Horse’s from Standing Rock, Sparvier’s, Davie’s, Iron Bear’s, Red Eagle’s, Lezard’s, Buckley’s Redstone’s and Parshall’s all from Poplar and Spottedbird’s. Forgive us if we forgot to mention and families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Rose EagleBoy; siblings Rita Brown, Isabelle (Felix) Kidder, Mayme (Sterlie) Red Eagle, Mary (Harry) Ironbear, Savannah (Gene) Sparvier, Cynthia (Lorne) Sparvier, Irene Lowry EagleBoy, Sandra Red Elk Adams, Flora EagleBoy, Floyd Eagleboy, Willard EagleBoy, Nelson EagleBoy, Melvin EagleBoy, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
