Cailee Skye Bird Hat “Eagle Plume Dancing in the Clouds”, left us to join her relatives that went on before her on July 12, 2023. Cailee Skye was born on November 26, 2002 to Michelle Clancy and Curtis Bird Hat in Glasgow.
Cailee was born on her brother Christian’s 1st birthday, so he called her his first birthday present. Cailee and her siblings lived and made their home in Wolf Point with their parents up until their separation in 2004. Even though they separated they remained good friends. Cailee and Christian moved to Frazer with their paternal grandmother, Carmen. Brandon moved to his maternal grandmother, Midge Clancy’s home in Wolf Point. Cailee attended school in Frazer. With numerous cousins and made many friends whom she called family. While in school Cailee joined basketball and football. She enjoyed the many trips across the state to play the sports she loved.
When Cailee and her siblings were younger, they traveled the powwow trail on their grandma Carmen’s concession stand. Cailee made many friends on that trail; she met many relatives across the state and in North Dakota. Cailee’s brothers meant the world to her. She was very proud of their accomplishments.
Cailee is survived by her mother Michelle Clancy of Wolf Point; her brothers Brandon Red boy of Wolf Point, Christian Bird Hat of Minot, ND, Cronus Bird Hat of Wolf Point and baby brother Jacob Grandchamp of Wolf Point; her grandmother Carmen Welch of Frazer, who thought the world of Cailee; her great grandmother Susan (Henry) LaRoque of Frazer; her special friend Jayden Jackson of Frazer; her aunts Misty King of Lame Deer and Candice Bird Hat of Frazer; her cousins Morgan and Mae King, Damon King, and Gracie King all of Lame Deer, Griffin Fourstar, Hailee Fourstar and Shane Friskey all of Frazer. Cailee had many cousins who she thought of as sisters, Justine Smoker of Frazer, Ayrianna Lindsay of Wolf Point, Cazree Sugg and Kyanna Sugg of Frazer. Cailee had a very large family, some of whom include the Clancy’s, Douglas’, Welch’s, Smoker’s and Bird Hat’s, too many to mention. I’m sorry for but this is very hard, please don’t be offended if I couldn’t put everyone down in this. Cailee loved all of you!
Cailee is preceded in death by her father Curtis Chris-Lee Bird hat; her uncle Sloan Follet; her maternal grandparents Ralph and Midge Clancy, and many numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents, please forgive me for not mentioning everyone.
Cailee was a joy to be around, she was outgoing and a fun person, always meeting new friends. She was loved by many; she always had a smile or a hug for her friends and family. Cailee will be tremendously missed.
