Carolyn Sigg Pilgrim was born 11/29/1930 in Joliet, Montana to Alfred G and Eleanor Horrall Sigg. She passed away on 3/18/2023 in Wolf Point, MT.
Carolyn attended her school years in Joliet, MT, Los Angeles, CA, and her senior year of high school in Hinsdale, MT, where she graduated in 1948.
She worked in her early years at the Hinsdale Tribune, and at the State Welfare Office in Helena, MT. She attended MSU-Billings from 1950-1960 graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Carolyn taught various grades from 1952-1988, in Glasgow, Billings, Forsyth, Terry, Wolf Point, Sunnyside, and at Frontier School. She spent many years as a substitute teacher while raising her children.
Carolyn loved to dance, read, listen to music, and study scriptures. She was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books covering a wide variety of subjects. She was very active in her church and dearly loved her “church family.” Over the last 50+ years, her involvement with her church included teaching Sunday School, Relief Society, and primary; and also playing the piano for church services, weddings, and funerals – which was her favorite calling.
Carolyn married Joseph E. Pilgrim in April 1963, and passed away 1 month shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. They have 4 children; Kerry (David), Joe, Andrea (Craig), and Ronald. They have 15 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Carolyn’s only living sibling is Jacob Sigg; her sisters, Barbara Warddrip, Alfreda Drabbs, Julia Slack, Audrey Larson, and Martha Neutgens, all preceded her in death.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, Montana. Interment will be held in Joliet, Montana at the Joliet Cemetery.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences for the family may be left using the form below.

We have such wonderful memories of Carolyn! She was a wonderful pianist and ready to help with anything. She made delicious persimmon cookies and shared both the recipe and the persimmons with us. It’s hard to imagine our ward in Wolf Point without her. We have been following her on Facebook and thoroughly enjoying the pictures. Can’t believe she’s gone, but we know that all is well with her and she isn’t very far away. Sending love to President Pilgrim and her family.

Carolyn did “good in the world” every day. Teaching children and adults for decades. And a mother and wife 24/7. Helping and supporting her church and several communities along the way. A skillful and accomplished lady. Now she has lots of news and great stories to share with friends and families on the other side. Joe and family, sharing stories helps ease the heartache. I hope some of your kids and grandkids stay and visit, come and go. You are a great hitching post for your family. Our Lord will guide you, and bless and strengthen you. Memories…
