Dannette “Dana” Lezard was born August 5th 1970 in Omak Washington and called home June 1st 2022 surrounded by her kids in Poplar Montana
Dana was born and grew up in Washington which is something she was proud of and she loved all her fond memories of living there. The family would always go camping, play outside games, and hang out together. In 1982 the family moved back to Poplar and that’s where she lived the remainder of her life.
Mom was quite the athlete growing up, she held the school record in discus for many years. She excelled in volleyball, basketball, track and was also a cheerleading. Playing sports was something she always enjoyed doing and later enjoyed watching her children do. She was at every event cheering on her babies and yelling at the refs if need be. Mom was also one heck of a pool player, winning jackets as “top shooter” something she was proud of. She loved playing pool with her kids and showing them where they needed to hit the ball. Spring time was always something she looked forward to because she was always ready to fish. Mom was also a dancer, whether that be in an arbor, in the kitchen with her parents and eventually her kids and grandchildren or on the dance floor. You could always find her dancing and having fun.
Mom was skilled in many different areas in the work force. She was a firefighter in her younger years, and loved telling stories of her time doing so. Mom worked at Poplar Schools for many many years which she loved doing and got close to many students, some of which she was still very close to, to this day. She loved working in the school because she was close to her children and was just a hallway away if they needed her. After leaving the school she was a bartender at Buckhorn for awhile until she found her place as a clinic assistant at the IHS. Mom loved her time there and her patients loved her. She was also so kind and helpful with everyone she came in counter with and that’s what gave her patients a sense of ease when they would come in.
Mom leaves behind her children whom she loved with her whole heart, her first baby Brandon, her first baby girl Kelly Lynn, her baby boy Tj, her Baby Girl and her baby Avalee Ireland. But one thing she loved more than her children was being a grandma. Mom loved her babies, babies so much, she leaves her Bridger Bear, Jax T, Brayden, and Tatum, her little TNT as she called her. Being a big sister was something she was very proud of. She loved and protected her sisters her whole life, no one could mess with Shannon Lezard or Mary(Leonard) Hilliard or else their big sister would be right there for them. Most importantly she leaves behind her parents Dave and Linda Lezard, who she loved and appreciated more than anything in the world.
Mom also leaves behind many many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who became her family. She was very proud of coming from a big family on both her Lezard and Ironbear sides. Coming from these big families taught her to keep your loved ones close and most importantly taught her how to love big, something that everyone she knew could always feel in her presence.
Dana will be missed and her absence will never be filled.
