David Lee Manning, 21, of Culbertson, left us Monday November 13, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born January 30, 1996 in Poplar, the youngest child of Alan and Patty (Cain) Manning. He attended school in Culbertson and graduated from Culbertson High School in 2014, where he was a member of the track team. He was currently working as a lumberyard receiver at Menards in Williston, a job he loved and where he made several co-worker friends. He was planning on going back to college at MSU Billings in January where he was planning to major in accounting and join the track team so he could pursue his dream of throwing the shotput in college.
David was loved by all who knew him. He made friends everywhere that he went and was always willing to lend his helping hand to a stranger. He lived to please others, loved his family and also loved spending time with all the friends he had made over the years. David was a two time state champion in the shotput for class C. He loved to play sports and watch his favorite sports teams which include the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s, Philadelphia 76ers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was also a video game enthusiast. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to go fishing with family and friends and could hardly wait for winter to arrive each year so he could go snowmobiling. David also fancied himself a photographer and enjoyed taking photos, especially of the beautiful Montana sunsets.
David is survived by his parents Alan and Patty Manning of Culbertson; his sister Mandy (James) Byrd and brother Brian (Shelby) Manning, both of Culbertson. He also leaves his nephew Logan Berwick, niece Emma Berwick, niece Shianne Byrd and another niece or nephew that he would’ve met in 2018, all of Culbertson. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
David had a heart of gold and would always help somebody in need out, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson, MT. With his death, David will still be helping out others as his corneas and tissues have been donated.

David.
It took some time for me to convince you to try the food I cooked at Culbertson School and one of my proudest personal moments as a cook was the first time I saw you in the hot lunch line.
There were more times you ate my cooking and I learned what a charming kid you were.
I will miss you, your smile and your visits to the grocery store when your Mom and I worked together.
Prayers, live and hugs to all your family.

Richard & Vonnie adored him and were so blessed to spend time with him Sunday evening. We love you all so much, please know we are always here for all of you!

Our thoughts and prayers to Al & Patty and to all of David’s family. David was a great mentor and friend to our son’s Eric & Ethan of which we are truly thankful. They will miss him greatly. They were so looking forward to his return to MSUB. We all enjoyed his many visits to our home to hang out with the boys. I thoroughly enjoyed our time doing the football stats side by side for the cowboys. He was a young man with a very generous heart. We will miss him dearly. God has gained an awesome angel.
