Dewayne Curtis Bigleggins, 65, passed away on august 26, 2023. He was born in Poplar, MT to Bernice Smoker Turntoes and Sherwin Bigleggins on August 2, 1958.
He lived in Frazer most of his life and attended school there. Later enlisting into the Army. He also attended Trapper Creek Job Corp where he got a certificate in Culinary Arts. He loved to cook. Dewayne worked as a chef in Helena, MT at the college and various other restaurants. At the time of his death, he was working at the Sherman as a breakfast cook in Wolf Point.
After the Army he went to Helena Vo-Tech and received his certificate in auto mechanics. He went to truck driving school in Omaha, Nebraska and received his CDL. He drove for North American Van Lines for a few years. Also worked in Sitka, Alaska on fishing boats. Worked in Sidney at Sidney Sugars and as a maintenance worker for Wolf Point hospital for a while. Dewayne was always working on his own vehicles and keeping them running.
He met Clarice Follette after he got out of the Army and they lived in Helena, Billings and Wolf Point and finally making their home in Frazer. They got married in 2015 after many years together. Dewayne helped raise her two sons, Christopher and Roy who he took as his own. She was the love of his life and he took care of her and loved to cook for her. She preceded him in death in May of 2023. Dewayne also liked to fish, hunt, play machines at the casinos, go for long ride with his wife, cook and work on vehicle. Dewayne was a quiet person and very helpful to anyone who needed help. He will be missed by all who got to know him.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Follette; brothers Franklin Turntoes, David Bigleggins; sisters Wanda, Nettie and Erin Bigleggins; cousins Rose and Bobby White and many more cousins and relatives.
Preceded in death by Clarice Follette Bigleggins his wife; parents Bernice Turntoes and Sherwin Bigleggins, Sr.; brothers Sherwin, Jr., Harold, Dwight and Rodney Bigleggins and many more relatives too many to mention.
