Edwin Dale Cox
Went up stairs peacefully surround by family on October 20, 2022. Born October 28,1951 to Joseph Cox and Julia Grandchamp in Poplar Montana. Ed was the youngest of 14. He grew up in Frazer Montana.
Ed meet and married the “love of my life” his word Marilyn Swanson on February 10,1977 in Bozeman. In 1991 Ed and Marilyn took in Johnny Cox to raise as theirs. Ed enjoyed the taking Johnny fishing, hunting and camping. Ed was proud of Johnny and all he achieved.
Ed was known as Uncle Eddy to many niece and nephews. He loved fishing, hunting and going camping. Spending time with family and friends at gathering. He loved to bead headdresses and breastplates. Ed would tan hides to make moccasins. Giving away to family and friends. He loved to watch black and white westerns.
Ed moved to Conrad in 2018 closer to his nephew James and family. In the last few years James and Sean Cox took Ed on their hunting trips to spend time with him. Ed said it was his way to get back to nature. He enjoyed and looked forward to the next one.
Ed is survived by wife Marilyn of Bozeman, Johnny Cox of Bozeman, James Cox and family of Brady, Sean and Becky Cox of Kalispell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his parent Joseph and Julia. Brothers and sisters Lenora, Joseph jr., Arlie, Yvonne, Nelson, Loretta, Melvin, Julius, Genevieve, Raymond, Alvin , Donald and Darlene.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Frazer, Montana. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences for the family can be left by using the form below.

To James and Sean, My thoughts and Prayers go out to the two of you over the loss of your Uncle Eddy. Although I did not know him, I met the two of you years ago though Carl Cambell from Glasgow. I have thought of you often and wondered of the where-about’s of the two of you. I am so sorry for your loss!
