Irene Anderson Erickson was born on August 30th, 1931 to Hans and Inga Anderson. She left this earthly life on November 17th, 2023.
In Glendive Montana, on June 8th 1948, she married Adrine (Boots) Erickson and to this union was born 4 children – Bruce, David, Douglas and Elaine
Her life was exemplified by her unwavering faith in Jesus. Reading and studying her Bible was the cornerstone of her life. Her testimony and love for Jesus attracted people, of all ages, for her to mentor and guide.
Her backyard was her sanctuary. She loved all the birds that would visit her yard – feeding the blue jays their daily peanuts. Every year she tended to her flowers and planted and harvested her garden.
Our family would like to thank all the Nurses and Providers at Trinity Hospital, for the loving care given mom over the past couple of years. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr Zilkoski. Your kindness and friendship was something that mom treasured. We would also, like to extend a heart of gratitude for those who visited mom while she was at home – your visits brightened her day. To all who referred to her as “Grandma Irene” – she cherished your visits and phone calls.
She was predeceased by her husband, “Boots”, son David, and Grandson Brad Erickson.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Tamara); Douglas (Rosanne); and daughter Elaine (Jeff) Long. Five Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren.
Mom- You fought the good fight and by the Grace of God, you finished well. We love and miss you.

Our daughter was so blessed to have visited with Irene in September on our way home to Kalispell from Canada. Irene was a really sweet lady who loved the Lord. May she rest in peace.
Laurie Anderson says
I love you Aunt Irene. I will miss you. But now you are with all those brothers that have been waiting patiently. God bless you.
Peggy says
I know Irene will always be with me & help me decorate the cemetery on Memorial Day like we did together for many years. She will let me know exactly how to arrange the flowers & smile when they are just right then on to trimming the lilac bushes so everyone can see the headstones of Slim & Craig. And, don’t forget to place the flags of her family veterans, Paul & my Dad & Mom. I will miss my Auntie always. Bruce, Doug & Elaine you had a beautiful Mom & now a beautiful angel to watch over you.
Joanna stanek says
My deepest sympathy to Elaine and family. There are so many wonderful memories growing up next door. I remember having “coffee” with our moms and listening to their morning chats. I wish I could be there but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sam Weirbach says
I only met Irene in person 2 times, many years ago. Bruce and I were friends & roommates at Biola University. However, I came to be a friend of her’s over the past few years. I enjoyed surprizing her with Seattle Seahawks and Mariners “stuff” to feed her appetite for her favotite teams. I remember receiving handwritten thank-you letters in return.
Not only was she a sports fan but she loved tilling her backyard and planting her favorite flowers. I remember a recent picture of her tending her garden and responding “Wow, what a lady”. Her love for her family was only superseded by her love for God. Heaven is a better place with Irene there, although there will forever be a place of void here on earth.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to the family. She was a wonderful person and had a contagious smile that lit up a room. She is gone but never forgotten.
Mike and Carol Preyer says
We loved Irene! Carol and Julie would visit her, and she would offer them tasty treats, as well as Elaine’s Batbie doll toys for Julie. It was so much fun! Irene’s loving nature was a blessing to us! She is now at peace and bliss. She may even have met Julie again! We send her family our love and God’s blessings.
