Jerry passed away on April 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Billings Clinic with his wife and sons and grandson by his side.
Jerry was born in Billings but lived in Shelby. Jerry graduated in Shelby and after graduating he moved to Seattle, WA. Jerry worked at Boeing Air Craft Industry then Jerry was drafted in the Army from 1962 to 1964.
After being Honorably discharged from the Army he moved to Yakima, WA. Jerry and his best friend Bill Arubrey started their construction company, Blaze Construction. They built homes all over the western part of the United States. Jerry moved to Wolf Point to build homes for Fort Peck Housing and met his wife, Bobby Jo. They married June 11th 1994. In 1998 he and his family moved to Gallup, New Mexico where he finished his last project with Lodge Builder, Inc. After that he went into business for himself where his two sons helped him until his passing.
Jerry is survived by his wife Bobby Jo; two sons Marcus Eggebrecht and Thomas Brown; two grandsons Bentley Eggebrecht and Joseph; two granddaughters Andrea Eggebrecht and Phelonie Brown all of Wolf Point; and 4 four legged dogs; sister Carol Porter of Shelby, MT; nephew Tim Porter and family of Anchorage, Alaska and niece Kathy Porter also of Anchorage, Alaska.
Preceded in death by his father, Adolph Hegdahl, mother Lois Hegdahl; brother Wayne Hegdahl; mother-in-law Donna Johnson Chase; father-in-law Elijah Curly Chase; sisters-in-law Elize (Joey) Red Elk and Davetta Taylor.
Jerry will be loved and missed by all family and friends.
Viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a vigil service starting at 6:00 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Cremation will follow.

Jerry was a good friend of mine. I met him back in the 80”s when he was the supe for Blaze Construction. We built a lot of homes since that time. He was the kindest man and I never ever seen him mad. That tells you alot about him. His heart was pure. I know he is in heaven. So it’s not good bye it’s I’ll see you later. My condolences to all his family near and far.
