Kenneth Myron Francis Shields III passed away into the spirit world Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was the son of Kenneth and Judy Shields. Kenny and his loving wife Judith were blessed with a precious son Mika Darin who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah-they were very close and he treasured his son, taking him to Chucky Cheese and to the park to laugh and play, then to the store to buy clothes and other things he enjoyed.
Kenny was always helpful and had a smile for everyone. He was kind hearted and was working toward going to Fort Peck Community College. Kenny’s oldest sister Toni also lives in Salt Lake City and they were very close. While growing up he cherished being with his grandparents Serena and Ambrose Good Soldier in Fort Kipp. He went to school in Brockton and Poplar, and had many friends.
Kenny was a very talented artist and would be seen drawing Native American symbols and especially warriors. He loved his family and would be the peace maker in many ways, forgetting himself to bring solitude to them. He always talked with a soft and loving voice. He really loved his new grandson Mathias, he would carry him around and talk to him. He had a special bond with his niece Treonna, they would bake cookies or cake when they wanted.
Kenny was named after his grandfather Kenneth K. Shields, Sr,, his uncle Myron Shields and his grandfather Francis Shields and Francis Mackey Two Bulls. He tried his best to live up to their names.
Kenny liked to spend time with himself reading scriptures and asking questions, and was baptized by his Dad Kenny, Jr. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was sealed along with his sisters Toni and Stephanie for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah in November 1996. He as a Deacon.
Kenny joins his sister and brother in the spirit world, Stephanie who passed away in 2003 and Harold in February 2016 and uncles Darrell, Vernon and Myron and grandparents Serena and Ambrose Good Soldier, Mercy and Donald White Bear, Sylvia Halfred, Lida Menz, Lottie Boyd, Elsie Falcon, Alona Bauer, Almena Red Dog, Leroy Firemoon and Kenneth Sr.
Kenny had many relatives and was a descendant of Bad Tempered Bear of the Dakota Ihantowan with relatives that included Half Red, Necklace, Red Eagle, Feather Earring, White thunder, Bighorn, BuckElk, Bear, Russell, War Club, Kills Spotted, Perry, Two Bulls, Smoker, Elk, Shell Track, Four Bear, Red Boy, Youngman, Denny, Two Bears, Good Bird, Sharp Eye, Firemoon, Four Star, Follette, and the Gleed Family.
He leaves behind special grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles and cousins; Caleb Shields, Julian Shields, Jr., Kenneth Smoker, Sr., Adrian Ireland, Maynard Hawk, Rusty and Lyle Denny, Tom Escarcega, Sr., Harold “Buddy” Adams, Greg Red Elk, Gerald “Bobby” Red Elk, Keith Red Elk, Jerry Shpeherd, Clinton Birdhat, Grandpa and Grandma Pilgrim, Michelle Standing Rock, Jonathan Cantrell, Andy Four Star, Arleda Shields, Cheryl Cantrell, Sybil Summers, Melissa and Terri Summers, Sharon Yellow Owl, Marie Yellow Owl, Arlene Red Eagle, Shane Fremont, Darryl BuckElk, Angel BuckElk, Sheila Black Wolf, Alex Falcon, Judy Falcon, Ford Falcon, Kevin Falcon, Lynn Bighorn, Chowie Falcon, Hubert Black Wolf, Jr., Russell Shields, and Lester “The Chef” Shields. He had a large family.
Kenny’s siblings include, Toni, Leland, Chrystal, Tammy, Regene, Austin and Jacob.
Kenny will be dearly missed; he was always happy and willing to help. He was soft hearted and wanted to be there when someone needed assistance, he would bring home those that didn’t have a place to sleep and make sure they had something to eat. Kenny had a spirit that reveals his character that he was a good son and would be happy to give all he had to someone less fortunate than he. He was sealed to his parents in the temple and we know, as well as he knows, that we will be together forever, as it will be a grand reunion in the morning of the first resurrection.
We express our thankfulness to all of you for your kindness and giving spirit, it is people like you that lessen the grief of those in mourning. Pidamaya.

So sorry for your loss, Kenny. You know he is safe now, away from the cold. I didn’t know him, but I do know you and Judy. May you find peace in the knowledge that he is with the creator now and at peace.
