Loren “Bruce” Houg tragically passed away in Glendive Montana, and went home to heaven on November 21, 2021. He was the son of the late Loren W. and JoAn Houg.
Bruce was born in Wolf Point on August 15, 1963. He grew up a farmer’s son and learned the land early in his adolescence. He was always the entrepreneur, using his allowance to buy candy to sell to his siblings and uncle, and along with his brother went into the chicken farming business. Bruce graduated from Wolf Point high school in 1981 and became a mechanic after attending Billings VoTech and was a truck driver as well. By his early/mid twenties he had three children, Nastassja, Nicolet, and Jeffrey and was married to their mother, Angela. Bruce would go on to have a few rental properties, a pig farm, and a few other small business ventures. Bruce never wavered from his love of farming and mechanics. He always enjoyed tinkering on cars and getting his hands dirty, spending many years working on vehicles. No matter where he was during his life, you could always find Bruce listening to music or reading a book. He was an avid reader, a trait he got from his mother. One of his favorite authors was James Patterson.
Bruce was a country boy through and through. If he wasn’t living in Wolf Point, he lived very close to Wolf Point in Circle, Glendive, or Billings. He spent several months with his older daughter, Nastassja in Kentucky, and more recently spent a few years with his younger daughter, Nicolet, in Nevada. Bruce loved his girls. Tragically, in 2005, he lost his son, Jeffrey at age 12. This was a devastating loss to Bruce as well as his whole family.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and JoAn, son, Jeffrey, and both sets of paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his daughters, Nastassja Perez (Antonio) and Nicolet Palmer (BJ), grandchildren, Treyvan, J.J. Jeffrey, Sage, Lily, Jax, and A.J., with a granddaughter Jewel on the way, brother Marc (Janece), sisters Becky Fritz, (Rick) and Tonya Paulson (Mel), and several nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, Montana. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
