The foundation of our family has been shaken and our hearts broken with the loss of our beloved husband, son, brother, dad, uncle, and papa. Loren Cecil “Weasel” Weston age 54 went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2020 at his home in Frazer, Montana. Loren was born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to Cecil Weston and Charlotte (Marshall) Weston on November 29, 1965. He attended schools on the Pine Ridge Reservation and Dubuque, Iowa, graduating from Senior High in Dubuque. He married Lisa Adams and from this union they had Casey, Jordan, Kay and Johnny. They later divorced. He married Jennifer Pourier and from this union they had Cole and Wesley. They later divorced. He also had another son named Daylan. In 2008, he met the love of his life “his soulmate” as he called her, Tish Talks Different, together they raised their grandson Gabriel Beston. Loren and Gabriel ’s bond was unbreakable. He worked in Law Enforcement as a police officer, known as 92 Unit on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for many years. He loved sharing stories about those days, and he had many. From 2007-2015 he worked for the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office in Wolf Point, MT as a detention officer. From 2016 to present he worked as a custodian at the Frazer Public School. When he wasn’t working, he was finding ways to scare/prank his coworkers somewhere in the school, most of them have a story about how he scared them. He’d come home and tell Tish “Guess who I scared today?” laughing about it as he told her. He was a very hard and dependable worker; he could always be counted on to get the job done. He made lifelong friendships that continued to this day. Loren and Tish loved to travel together, have date nights and just to be in the comfort of their own home. They travelled as far as western Montana to North and South Dakota, and Nebraska. He always had to be behind the wheel, going 60-65 mph insisting that it was fast enough, earning one of his many nicknames “Pokey Moe”. He earned yet another nickname “Grandpa Fred” and if you know the 1980’s movie Sixteen Candles, you’ll know why. He enjoyed doing yard work and gardening with Tish and building or creating projects she wanted done. Loren attended Blue Sky Ministries in Wolf Point and the Cansuska Presbyterian Church in Frazer, singing Dakota Hymns was something he took pride in. He loved to read scriptures from the bible and listen to gospel music. He loved traveling home to Porcupine to visit family, his last trip home in August was a big highlight for him as he was able to see his mother Charlotte. Loren was an avid big foot hunter, sometimes sitting out in the country all night until morning hoping to catch a glimpse of him. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved to fish, getting in many catfish tournaments with his sister Juanita and brother in law Lonnie Headdress Sr., he also did a lot of leisure fishing with his stepson in law Jaron Viver Sr. and grandson Gabriel. He enjoyed going to bingo and playing machines. Loren loved to talk for hours on the phone with his son Jordan, his mother and his sister Bea. He loved his each one of his grandchildren, spoiling each of them in his own way. Loren was a very humble man and lived a very simple life, he never looked down on anyone. He loved mowing yards on his riding lawn mower, not charging anyone simply doing it to lend a helping hand. He was never hesitant to accommodate or assist anyone in their times of need- never asking or taking anything in return. Loren will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his mother Charlotte Weston, his wife Tisha Talks Different, his sisters Natalie (Jim) Hannon, Juanita (Lonnie) Headdress and Martha Petigrew, his brothers Warren, Baylon, Eric and Simon Weston. His children Casey (Dionne), Jordan (Crystal), Kay, Wesley, and Daylan. Step-Children Tessa (Jaron), Michael (Sunny), and Kourtney (Shilo), His grandchildren Lucas, Carolann, Brooklyn, Azlyn, Rona, Adamina, Gabriel, Jaedyn, BriAnna, Colten, Preston, Reese, Gemma, Aubree, Shyla, Michael Jr., Jaron Jr., Jacoby, Hannah and Jasper. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Father Reverend Cecil Weston, his sons Johnny Lawrence and Cole, Grandson Benz, and his uncle Loren Robertson

I was saddened to hear of Loren’s passing. Loren was one of those rare people with a quiet strength; always there to help and never judgmental. A smile just below the surface. He will be greatly missed! May you find comfort in your faith and may your many memories bring laughter to your hearts!

I will remember Loren as a kind, funny and hard-working man who welcomed me to Frazer School with a warm heart and snake stories. He helped open my car once when I got locked out. He will be dearly missed by all. My deepest sympathy to you, Tish and family.

I remember his son or grandson used to come and visit me at the Pahin Wakpa Mission and we would have discussions about his grandpa Cecil. Don’t remember his name but he was well mannered and you can tell his parents and grandparents raised him right. Prayer for the family in Frazer and South Dakota.

Loren and I met while he was a detention officer with Roosevelt county. He was alway interesting to visit with during the long night shifts. We’d drink coffee and share stories about police calls. He has some fascinating stories about law enforcement on the Pine Ridge reservation. He later went on to the Frazer schools where he worked in maintenance. He cared greatly about that kids and I enjoyed visiting him before and after the varsity games of 2017-2018. Rest In Peace Loren and condolences to all his many family members.
