Margaret Mary Leggett passed away peacefully Monday, August 15 2022. She was born
May 17, 1943 to James and Vina Rose Brunelle in Poplar, Montana. Margaret went to Catholic
School and graduated from Wolf Point High School. She married Joe Leggett in Great Falls on
October 14, 1961. In the service, they traveled the country and were stationed in Brandywine,
VA and Colorado Springs, Co. They moved back to Wolf Point to make their home and raise a
family in 1971.
Mom worked many jobs. Clerk at Ben Franklin Store and HiWay Market. Waitress at the
Wolf Point Cafe, The Husky Cafe, and the Stockman Cafe. For a time she managed a VHS
rental store. Mom (and Dad) mostly enjoyed selling their produce, baked goods and canned
goods at the Wolf Point Farmer’s Market and at the Poplar Activity Center. Margaret easily built
friendships and people loved her homemade goodies. Many of her friends and family repeatedly
told her she was underpriced on her goods; she simply (stubbornly) replied that people didn’t
have much money and she wouldn’t raise her prices. Mom would give away anything she had,
except treasured pictures.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Thelma of Wolf Point, and her son, Joseph (Keri)
of Great Falls. She had 15 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren, she maintained special
relationships with all of them.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Merle Leggett and her
son, Thomas (Delores) Leggett. She was also preceded by her father, James Brunelle, her
stepfather Louis LaFloe and her mother, Vina Rose Beauchman Brunelle LaFloe. She was also
preceded by her sisters, Claudia Creighton and Celina Severson.

Prayers for the family! The Leggett family was always so kind and pleasant to be around. One of many things they did was always selling at the Farmers’ Market. I always gave a special order for her caramel rolls which had to be picked up at her house and the kitchen was full of freshly baked pies and rolls! Several times Joe delivered the rolls at no cost! Joe also brought along free advice on any subject. Now the angels will be serving Margaret and Joe! God bless your family!

By far the most kind hearted and selfless neighbor I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Treated us like family (and fed us like it too!). Sending love and comfort to Joe and Thelma and the rest of the family. Muggs will be missed dearly.

Travel in joy my friend. I will miss you for you always had chokecherries for me to use for ceremony. When I didn’t make my jellies, i could always depend on you to be there for me to buy those special gifts for family far away. My favorite supplier of berries – you will be missed. I loved our time visiting and laughing – tell everyone on the other side we send our hello.
