Marva Naomi Bull Chief, 55, of Wolf Point, MT started her journey home on September 20, 2022. Marva was born May 4, 1967 to Marvin Bull Chief Sr. and Darlene Fourstar-Gray in Wolf Point.
Marva had three moms, her mother, Darlene Fourstar-Gray, her step-mom, Rose Mary Bull Chief, and adopted mom, Mary Adams. Marva grew up in Frazer, where she attended Kindergarten to 6th grade. Her Jr. High school years she attended school in Wahpeton, ND and the Mormon Placement Program in Washington. She finished her High School in Frazer where she played volleyball, basketball, and was in track and field. She also was a cheerleader and was the Bearcub mascot for the boy’s team. She was a rep in student council for her class. While in high school she worked at A&S Industries. Marva graduated in May 1986.
Shortly after high school she moved to Ft. Belknap where she met and married John Bearcub Jr. They divorced in the 1990’s and Marva moved to Wolf Point where she stayed for a while. She drove for a friend to Oklahoma and stayed for a month and a half. She came home and stayed with family and friends. Marva later met the love of her life, Steven Follette in 2006. Where they worked at Homestead as housekeeping until his passing on April 6, 2020.
Marva liked to visit her baby sister, Emmy when she would come home for visits. She liked visiting family and friends, cleaning, cooking, listening to music while cruising around.
Marva is survived by her sisters, Madonna (Don) LaRocque of Wolf Point; Emory (Mike) Gray of Billings, MT, Melanie Hotomani-Salteaux of Wolf Point, Taryn (Harlan) Jackson of Frazer; brother, Rory Hotomani of Missoula, MT; brothers-in-law, Brian Weston Sr. and Rollie White; uncle, Andrew Fourstar of Frazer; aunts, Barbara Birdsbill of Wolf Point, Geraldine Rutherford of Ft. Belknap; adopted mom, Mary Adams; cousins, Anna Gleed, and Gaydella Brunelle of Wolf Point; nieces, Renae Bull Chief of Poplar, Cee Cee Jackson of Ft. Belknap, Shandarra Douglas of Wolf Point, Andrea Jackson (Denny) of North Dakota, Ashley Brock, Twyla Hotomani, Meronica Jackson, LaTeshia Hotomani, Marya White, Valynn Jackson, Darnelle Fourstar, Elise Fourstar, Faith Fourstar and Rosina Blount all of Wolf Point, Heather Jackson, NaKiya Hotmani-Jackson, Kylie Jackson, Laryn Jackson all of Frazer; nephews, Jason Bull Chief of Poplar, Quinten Bull Chief of Poplar, Cecil Jackson of Ft. Belknap, Dylan Weston, Brent Weston, Brian Weston Jr., and Xander Weston, Trevor White, Timothy Hotomani, Corwin Fourstar Jr., Austin Fourstar, Bailyn Fourstar, and Galen Fourstar all of Wolf Point, Farren Jackson of Frazer.
Marva was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Bull Chief Sr.; step-dad, Emory Gray; mother, Darlene Fourstar-Gray; step-mom Rosemary Bull Chief; aunts, Nellie Silk; brothers, Marvin Bull Chief Jr., Steven Douglas Jr., Larron Hotomani, Valen Hotomani, and Corwin Fourstar Sr.; sisters, Twyla Bull Chief, Shirlene Bull Chief, and Myra Bull Chief; sisters-in-law, Amanda Bull Chief; nephews, Melvin Bull Chief, Deland Red Boy, and Bradley Bull Chief; nieces, LaToya Jackson, and Kyleen Bull Chief; grandparents, Andrew Fourstar, Gae Matthews, Pete Matthews, and Herbert and Nellie Bull Chief.
A wake will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, September 29 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, September 30 at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Frazer. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
