Our mother, Mavis Sharin Loegering, age 76, of Poplar, Montana went to be with our Lord peacefully at Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar surrounded by family on March 9, 2023.
Mom was born in Wolf Point, Montana on March 31, 1946, to Gordon and Margery (Hancock) Rodewald, the youngest of five children (Betty, Gordon, Jr., Rhoda and Margery).
She was raised and attended school through her Junior year at Brockton, Montana, later obtaining her GED.
Mom married dad (Del Loegering) on June 22, 1963, in Poplar, Montana, they remained together until his passing in April 1996. Two children were born from this union (Dawn and Dewey).
In her lifetime she worked numerous jobs, such as babysitting took in ironing, Gambles Store, Northeast Montana Health Services (in many capacities), Independence Bank, Murphy Oil Corporation, Tande’s Grocery and Buckhorn Café. But her greatest and most fulfilling job was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mom loved without limits, whether it be human or animal. Anyone who knew her knows that she had a heart of gold and that touched many lives.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Del Loegering, her parents Gordon and Margery Rodewald, father and mother-in-law Pete and Sally Loegering, sisters Betty Mariani and Rhoda Meyers, brothers-in-law Dock Loegering, Bob Atkinson, Richard Meyers, and Mike Mariani, special foster son Chiefy Ryan, son-in-law Keven Johnstone and niece Jane Meyers.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn Johnstone, son Dewey (Lanette) Loegering, brother Grodon (Evie) Rodewald, sister Margery (Jim) Shanks, sister/best friend Mary Lou Simons, sisters-in-law Sharie Loegering, Tana Atkinson, and Lori (Lyle) Loegering, adopted daughter Dolly Crowe, foster son Bum Fredrick, grandchildren Tiffany (Tim) Roebuck, Chips Grainger, Rodell Loegering, and R.J. Loegering, great grandchildren Tyler, Trever, Thea, and Tanner Roebuck and Riley Loegering, many nieces and nephews and numerous friends she considered family.
