Perry Lee Grey Bull, 70, made his journey to the spirit world on Oct. 16, 2023 in Billings, MT. Perry was born on May 17, 1953 to Matthew K. Grey Bull and Irene Ireland in Fort Yates, ND.
Perry was raised by his grandmother Elizabeth Grey Bull and later on by Viola Spotted Bird. He graduated in 1972 from Brockton High School. He married Maxine Grant and together they had two sons, Royce and Travis Grey Bull and lived in Poplar for a number of years and later moved to Billings, MT until his passing. Perry was also a Native American Instructor at Billings Schools. Perry and Maxine had raised two girls, Ariel, Tiffany Yolonda Walking Eagle of Billings.
He leaves behind his son Royce Grey Bull, his sisters Ernestine Ireland, Verdis Grey Bull (Russell Mail), Charlene Drum, all of Poplar, Lorna Drum and our matriarch of the Spotted Bird family, Doris Spotted Bird, both of Brockton, MT; his brothers Richard (Sun) Grey Bull of Enterprise, Alabama, Joel “Sweetpea” (Marcella) Grey Bull of Poplar, Silas Drum, Peking, Illinois, John Spotted Bird (Jackie), Ronald and Errol Yellow Hammer, many cousins Kori Good Bird, Myron Spotted Bird, Gina Rae, Kae (Bear) Roberts, Larissa Spotted Bird, all of Brockton, Raymond (Ole) Grey Bull and Farrell Grey Bull of Billings, Candace Spotted Bird, Poplar.
Many nieces and nephews Lee Marie (Derick) Red Elk, Chubback, ID, Jen Yellow Hammer Rattling Thunder, Joseph, Ronnie, Wilma Yellow Hammer, Adrian (Marjorie) Spotted Bird, Brian J. Mail, Sr., and Talon “TJ” Mail all of Poplar, Merrill, Casey and John Baker, Sami Lynn and Ian Drum of Brockton, Stephanie, Andrew and Michael Grey Bull, Jackie, Ida, Royce JOhn all of Poplar, and Dwain Spotted Bird of Billings, Jewell and Edmund Youpee of Brockton, Steven, Alyssa, Alex and Trey Firemoon, all of Poplar, his aunt Barbara Birdsbill and Colleen Birdsbill of Wolf Point, his in-laws, Sybil Grant and her children, Crystal Lester and Pauline Red Star, all of Poplar.
Special grandchildren ReShaun and Brian J. Mail, Jr., Shia Leigh Bears Heart, Quinn Baker, Anjulie and Damian James, all of Poplar, Austin Spotted Bird of Brockton. There are many more grandchildren in Perry’s life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine and son Travis Grey Bull, Viola and aunts Josephine Black Dog, Carole and Catherine Spotted Bird, Melvine White Bear, and uncle Leland Spotted Bird, his grandmother Elizabeth Grey Bull, aunt Mariann Grey Bull, his brothers Kenneth, Adrian “Chuck” and Lew Spotted Bird.
