Peter James Frederick, 70, passed away on June 4, 2021 at his home outside of Nashua, MT.
Pete was born on January 20, 1951 to Lewis & Hattie (Hinman) Frederick in Wolf Point, MT. He attended and graduated school from Poplar, MT.
After graduation, Pete moved to Tucson, AZ where his brother Joe and his family lived. Pete worked at a paper factory, and as a joke decided to bring all of his sisters back paper dresses! Pete moved back to Poplar, MT and went straight to work at the Farmer’s Union Elevator in Poplar, MT. He was there until it shut down for good. After that he became a member of the janitorial staff for the Poplar Schools. During this time, he also was a volunteer EMT for the Poplar Hospital. Pete was also very active in the Poplar AAU Wrestling Club. He was a volunteer coach, as well as a referee for many, many years.
Pete was briefly married to Delores Wynia, who he met through the hospital where she was a traveling nurse. They then moved to Winner, SD where he worked as maintenance for the local hospital. After their divorce, Pete moved to his cousin Terry & Nora Zeiger’s mink farm outside of Nashua, MT. Later, Pete & Danny Zeiger took over and ran it together.
Pete didn’t have any children of his own, but he was active in the lives of his nieces & nephews. Later on, he was very active in the lives of their children. You could almost always find “Uncle Pete” in the stands at every wrestling meet around the area. He loved to watch his relatives wrestle, especially nephew Jase Frederick & cousin Luke Zeiger! Pete also loved to read any kind of books he could get his hands on, and going to the Fort Peck Theatre.
Pete is preceded in death by his mother & father, Hattie & Lewis Frederick; Brothers John, Leroy, Joseph, David, Mark, Samuel, & Abraham Frederick; Sisters Ruth Frederick & Martha Bridges; Niece Heather Frederick; Nephew Shane Frederick.
Pete is survived by his sisters Esther Stuehm, Sarah (Dennis) Thompson, Mary Frederick, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Church of the Nazarene in Poplar, Montana. Condolences for the family can be left by using the form below.

Dusty glasses and a face full of wheat screening dust. When I was a kid, I could always rely on Pete for a soda a couple times a week. RIP buddy.
