Roger D. White Sr. passed away on November 20, 2021 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Montana. Surrounded by his family. Roger was born in Poplar, Montana on February 1, 1955 at 8:35a.m. at the Fort Peck Agency to Faye White (the late) and Daniel Medicine Horse (the late).
He had multiple families growing up, he was first raised by his mother Faye until her passing… then Grandma Nellie and Grandpa Herbert Bull Chief along with Marvin Bull Chief and family raised him. He then moved in with Harry and Midge Follet and family, and finally with Sadie and Dean Blount and family,
Roger grew up in Frazer, Montana all his life and attended Frazer schools, graduating in 1974. Roger received many awards for his excellence in sports. He participated in Cross Country, Track, and Basketball. Roger excelled in academics and athletics in High School. He held numerous records in basketball and one of his games, he scored 53 points (with no 3-point lines back then). Nobody knows how proud we were. Roger made many friends in high school that he is still very close with to this day. Roger loved to hunt with all of his friends and enjoyed many backyard basketball games.
After high school, Roger married his high school sweetheart, Judy Bauer and to this union, 4 children were born, Roger Jr., Amanda Faye, Jacob Allen, and Kayla Rae. He loved to spend time with all his kids and enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.
Roger had his pick of colleges and universities after high school with full ride scholarships offered to him. Dillon was one of his first picks but he chose Northern Montana for a couple semesters. He was a cop for a spell and moved on to labor and carpentry throughout his life. He worked for the tribal hip and housing program, tribal fencing, tribal ranch, and the Flynn ranch. He fought fire during the big Yellowstone fire and he was a crew boss for the Fort Peck Tribes Fire Department. Recently, he worked at the Community College in maintenance. Throughout his life he maintained work wherever he went. He lived all over the country. He lived and worked in White Center, Washington. He worked and lived in Fort Belknap, doing maintenance at Fort Belknap College. He loved to play men’s slow pitch soft ball, he won many tournaments in this past time. He also loved to play horse shoes as a pastime. He was passionate about hunting and fishing.
Roger made a lot of friends wherever he went. He was a lovable and kind hearted man. He loved his children and grandchildren and was always proud of his kids and grandbabies. Even after high school, he traveled all over to many basketball tournaments and made many friends along the way.
Roger always looked out for his family and called them daily. He always did so much for his mom and dad (who he called Mommy-O and Daddy-O). He did everything he could to protect his brothers and sisters.
Roger is survived by his son, Roger (Jackie) White, his children, Lacey White and grandbaby Jorain White, Avery White and grandbabies Arielyn and Oakley Moran, Sacred White, Miyona White, and Axl White; his daughter Amanda White (Amos Bridges) and her children, Makiya (Dawndra) Greywater, Jayce Wells, Hamilee Wells, and Amiyah Wells; his son Jacob White, and his children, Rael White, Gahge White, Jaycee White, Jacob White Jr., and Aaliyah White; and grandchildren for his late daughter, Kayla White, Nateesta White, Kayson Cantrell, and Sophie White; his adopted sons, Roberto and Fernando BearHill with his companion Denise BearHill; his sister, Tammy Dawn Olsen; his brothers, Tyrus (Fern) Follet and family, Rollie White and family, Chad Nelligan and family, Waylan (Michelle) Blount and family, and Thomas Blount; sisters, Carol (Karl) Wallette and family, Melanie (Mike) Cole and family, and Vicki (Tom) Dahl and family.

Years ago, when Herbert and Roger would come into Berge’s Pay N Save, we knew that Roger was a very special person. He always had a smile on his face and had a good sense of humor. As he grew older, he would always ask about the members of my family.
Frazer lost a favorite son. I know he was one of mine. RIP Roger.
