Rose “Babydoll” Marie Akers, age 69, passed away on May 17, 2022, surrounded by her family at Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Montana.
Rose was born on December 23, 1952 in Havre, Montana to David Akers and Genevieve Bergie McClammy.
Rose attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated with a master degree in Business Administration. Rose then moved back to the Fort Peck Reservation and worked for IHS Contract Health as the supervisor.
She enjoyed reading, watching CNN, spending time with her grandkids, and spoiling her dogs.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Genelle Akers of Poplar, Montana; her son, Mark (Shelby) Akers of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Elise Akers of Poplar, Montana, Alexandra (Jessie) Magalon, of Fredrick, Maryland, Aaron Akers of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Abigail Akers of South Williamsport, Pennsylvania; sisters Joni McClammy of Wolf Point, Montana, Carol (Quentin) Gilham of Billings, Montana, Billie (Greg) Norgaard of Poplar, Montana, Diana McClammy of Billings, Montana, and Rita (Barney) Hopkins; adopted brother, Donnie (Annie) Moran of Poplar, Montana, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, David Akers; mother, Genevieve McClammy; grandmother, Rose Bergie; and grandfather, Joseph Bergie.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar, Montana. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar, Montana. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery.
