Sherman Douglas Boxer, age 66, passed away at his home in Denver, Colorado of natural causes on October 28, 2023.
Sherman was born and raised in Poplar, Montana, the last child of Tony and Mattie Ricker Boxer. Our baby brother made his appearance during Thanksgiving dinner on November 23, 1957 at Grandma and Grandpa Ricker’s home.
Sherman attended school in Poplar, Montana and the state of Washington. Later in his life, he attended SIPI (Southwestern Polytechnic Institute) in Albuquerque, NM. He also lived in Grand Junction, CO for a brief time. No matter where Sherman lived, he always gravitated back to Denver. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan!
Sherman is survived by his two brothers, Tony Boxer of Durango, CO, and William Richard Hawk of Miles City, MT; his only sister, Ardey Boxer of Poplar, MT; his only child, Carla Clincher of Wolf Point, MT, and our sister-in-law, Pauline Boxer. Sherman’s family of Denver, CO include Dj Janis (friends for over 30 years), Denis DeMarrias and children, Robert, Yolanda, Chris, and Leilani DeMarrias; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends; as well as our relatives in British Columbia and many places in Canada. Our family is large, we are unable to list everyone.
Sherman is preceded in death by our parents, Tony and Mattie Ricker Boxer; brothers, Irvin “Buddy” Iron Cloud, Lawrence “Chiefy” Boxer, and Leonard Boxer; sisters, Genevieve Boxer Wise Spirit, Sharon Joyce Boxer, and Corrine Boxer Brown; his paternal grandparents, Francois and Elise Boxeur; maternal grandparents, Ezra and Mary Bear Ricker; as well as many relatives in Canada and British Columbia.

Holidays are upon us. It’s so hard without you. Got so used to you being with us. Geez my friend, so many crazy hilarious memories. All our jobs we worked together, the many concerts. Without you driving we gotta sleep in Wyoming now. We’ll be sure the new babies know you. You were the best Uncle/Papa and friend ever. Our hearts are💔. I’ll see you at the other end of the 🌈 someday, until then check in on us ok. Coffee cheers and schnapps shots😥
