Sherry Lynn Longtree Turning Bear, Cánté Wasté Wiyá “Good Hearted Woman”, age 68, of Poplar, MT passed away on July 21, 2023 in Poplar.
Sherry was born on June 19, 1955 to Louise Crazy Bull and James “Jim” Turning Bear.
She was a CNA in at Poplar Hospital then later became a Dental Assistant at Poplar IHS for many years until her retirement. She loved driving around and listening to music of all kinds, playing bingo and machines. She loved spending time with grandchildren and loved ones.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Christina Longtree of Wolf Point; son, Christopher Longtree Sr. of Poplar; grandsons, Jeremy RedDog Jr., Nashon RedDog, Nicholi Nelson, and Christopher Longtree Jr.; and her significant other, “Suess”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” Turning Bear and Louise Crazy Bull; her husband Robert Longtree Sr.; Olivia Longtree, Robert Longtree Jr; her grandparents, brothers and sisters.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 1st at 6:00 p.m., a funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd at 11:00 a.m. all at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
