Sonja Red Elk Burshia Low Dog, 47, passed away on April 19, 2019. Sonja was born to Linda Red Elk Come Last and Raymond Burshia Sr. on September 21, 1971. Sonja married Tony Birdsbill on April 7, 1990. From this union, they had 3 children, Trevor, Steven, and Antoinette Birdsbill. Later on she married Robert Low Dog. Sonja was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Burshia Sr.; brother, Dennis Comes Last; sisters, Sherri and Kerri Comes Last; paternal grandparents, Al Burshia and Vera Ricker Red Elk; maternal grandparents, Vera Red Elk Growing Thunder, and Alex Bercier; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins too numerous to mention.
Sonja is survived by her husband, Robert Low Dog; mother, Linda Comes Last; children, Trevor, Steven, and Antoinette Birdsbill and Pherris Birdsbill, whom she adopted and called her son; brother, Raymond Red Elk Burshia; sisters, JaTonna Red Elk and Janet Comes Last; grandchildren, Dominic, Donovin, Jeremiyah, Xaniyah, Jasiyah, Cole, and Rowdy; special aunts, Judy Red Boy, Sandy (Kenny) Azure, Carol Small Demarrias, Roxanne Burshia Smith, Doris Red Dog Lambert, and Barbara Ricker Fast Horse. She loved all her relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to mention.
A prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Poplar. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.
