Sybil Faith (Half Red) Summers went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2023, at 70 years old. Sybil was born to Loyal and Eunice (Feather Earring) Half Red on July 23, 1953, in Poplar, MT. She graduated from Poplar High School in 1973. Sybil later attended S.I.P.I in Albuquerque, NM and graduated with a certificate in the Dental Assistant program. After she came home to work at the Fort Peck IHS dental, was also detailed to New Town, ND for a bit. She also worked at the Poplar City Dental office. Upon being a dental assistant for a few years, she took some time to be a full-time wife and mother. She married her husband, Robert Summers, Sr. on January 21, 1978. They were in love and married 45 years. From this union, five children were born. After her children got a little older, she went back to work for the Fort Peck Tribes and worked as a teacher and teacherβs aide for the Head Start program for 20 + years. She loved working with the little ones all those years.
After retiring, Sybil loved enjoying driving around, shopping, and spending time with her family. She liked to go with her husband out in the country whether it was for fishing, or trapping. She also loved her puzzle books, and watching WWE, and Chicago PD, and other shows weekly. Sybil was also strong in her faith and love for God. Sybil also enjoyed trying out new recipes we picked to make.
In her younger years, mom enjoyed dancing in the powwows. Her parents had bought her a beautiful buckskin dress. She was even part of the Oil Celebration Royalty in the early 70βs.
Sybil is survived by her husband, Robert Summers, Sr.; her two daughters, Melissa (Farouk) Mohammed, and Terri Summers; her two sons, Robert Summers, Jr., and Ben Summers, all of Poplar; two granddaughters, Eliza Mason of Billings, and Zoey Summers; two grandsons, Tyren Mason, and Aiden Kelsey; her very special niece and nephews, Willette, William Lambert, Jr., and Lloyd Lambert; also, another grandson, William Lambert III; sister-in-law, Shelley Summers and adopted sister, Gay Pennington of Billings; adopted daughter, Meredith Granbois; adopted brother, Greg Plante, Edwin Falcon, Ford Falcon, Irene Bighorn, and Farryl Feather Earring.
Mom had a special relationship with her cousins on both sides of the family, Lynn Bighorn, Monica LaRoque, Brenda Bauer, Joni Zaste, Anita Lee, Judy Falcon, Marva Young Bear, Trivian Nault, Lynette Boyd, and Bruce Bauer; aunts, Corlene Bird and Joyce Johnson; other relatives include, Bets His Medicine, Shields, Bauer, Bighorn, Falcon, Four Bear, Cloud, Menz, Buckles, Four Bear, and Owns Pipe. Our family is too large to mention everyone so please forgive us if we forgot anyone.

Youβll always be my sister. We practically grew up together. You take me how to Chinese jump rope and cut out paper dolls. And all the comic books that you had, weβd read them over and over. They were such fun times. I miss you and will always love you.
