Tamara Lynn Red Eagle, 36, passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022 at Poplar Community Hospital wither daughter and grandson by her side.
Tamara was born on September 9, 1986 to Dennis Red Eagle and Constance “Connie” Youngman in Poplar, MT. She attended schools in Poplar and Brockton and was currently working on her Hi-set, which she really wanted to earn. Tamara lost her parents at a young age and was raised by her grandmother Betty Ann Goodbird Blackdog. She is also a child of the Knife Clan and loved her Hidatsa ways that her grandmother taught her.
Tamara had 6 children, Dennissa LeeAnn Red Eagle, Leola Jaslynn, Leonard Joseph Lambert, three Angel babies and two grandchildren Ashtyn Paige and Asher David that she loved dearly. She loved spending time with her children and grandkids. She enjoyed talking about them and taking them to do things. She loved getting pictures of them and carrying them around with her. She also had 3 special nieces that she loved so much, EmmaRae, Cammie and LillyAnn Martell. She was very proud of her nieces and would call to check on them often, she enjoyed watching them play sports together.
Tamara grew up around all her cousins but she claimed them as all; her sisters and brothers. She was a fancy shawl dancer in her younger days and enjoyed going to powwows and camping with her family. She loved to go to yard sales with her grandma/mom Betty and Billy. She also loved going to spend time with her family in North and South Dakota. She loved playing Yahtzee, Bingo, Keno, cards and dice with her family and friends. She was an amazing cook and baker. There was nothing that she couldn’t make but the best was frybread, buns, gabubu bread, and cinnamon rolls. Tamara also loved to travel no matter who she was with or where they were going, she always made it fun. She loved to go for walks around town with her nieces and nephew and take them to the playground.
Tamara held various jobs throughout her life, most including working in housekeeping and cooking. The best job Tamara had was being a very helpful member and friend. She would help out those around her with whatever was needed, whether it was making her frybread for a dinner/event, lending a hand in the kitchen, or stitching a quilt that needed to be done. Beyond Tamara’s big family she was born into Tamara also believed in the old ways of making relatives. Once she claimed someone as a relative, she always acknowledged them by their kinship term and loved them as her own. She was most fiercely protective and supportive of the family she made with those she hung out and survived with. She was the daughter of many moms, the sister of many sisters and brothers, the niece to many aunties and uncles, the granddaughter to many grandmas and grandpas. If Tamara claimed you as a relative, you were family forever.
Tamara is survived by her children, Denissa, Leola and Leonard, her grandchildren Ashtyn and Asher; mothers Maureen (Richard) Dionne, Faryl Crowe, Mary (Greg) Plante; sisters Lynnsay (Deacon) Red Eagle, Shannon (Clayton) Martell, Brandie and Mercedee (Dante) Dionne, Elizabeth Pedraza, Ann St. Germaine, Miranda Youngman, Dorell Black Thunder, Adriann Ricker, Charlotte Kazena-Smith, Fahtima Hood, Chelbi Brugh; brothers Delvin Red Eagle, Richard (Nettie) Dionne, Tolley Red Eagle, Dennis Red Eagle, George Spotted Wolf, Myron Olson, Kyle Youngman, Robby Olson, Jeremy (Darcee) St. Germaine,; nieces and nephews Persephone, Dezmond, Embry, Dayton, EmmaRae, Cammie, LillyAnn, Macey, Cale, Amber, Rickie, Daylon, Talon, Gerra, Piper Jo, Kasen, Mandy, Jacora, Jameryn, Jocoven, Joe, E’marie,; aunties Carole, Kathy, Glenna, Goldie Red Eagle, Leanna Buck Elk, Felicia, Twyla and Crystal Goodbird, Lynette Becker, Twilia Red Eagle, Danette Scott, Kae (Bear) Roberts, Gina and Larissa Spotted Bird, Kori Goodbird, Maizie (Arnold) Youngbird; Gerred Red Eagle, Scott (Burma) Youngman, Dewayne (Lori) Youngman, Cody (Pam) Youngman, Emmett Buckles III, Kelly Walking Eagle, Myron Spotted Bird, Calvin Goodbird, JD Finley; Grandmas Doris Spotted Bird, Inamae Driver, Doreen Red Eagle, Gloria (Bob) Garcia, Pauline Boxer, Eloise, Isabell, Wilma and Donna Youngman; grandpas Leonard Goodbird, Everett Jones, Squeaky Walking Eagle, Douglas Youngman.
