Monella became my sister when her dad and June adopted me many years ago. Thus Trey became my nephew. Trey had a smile a mile wide. He always had a special twinkle in his eyes. I never heard Trey complain as a boy or a young man. He was always ready and willing to give a helping hand to his mother, sister, grandpa, myself or whom ever. I was so very proud of him graduating from Poplar High School and then taking carpentry classes from Fort Peck College. I was also very proud of the fact that after his grandpa got out of the hospital Trey stayed with him until he recovered. Trey cooked, cleaned and did everything for his grandpa. Again never a complaint. He hunted with his grandpa Maynard Hawk and uncle Johnny Youpee. This was the fine respected young man my nephew became. These are the memories I’ll carry with me. An outstanding young man who left us way too early in life. Our hearts will take time to heal.
