William L. Red Star passed away on April 5, 2022 in Billings, MT. He was born on June 27, 1981 to Cheryl Melbourne and George Red Star.
William enjoyed cruising. Listening to music, taking walks, being with family and friends, playing bingo. The biggest joy of his life was spending time with his grandkids. Dad said what was on his mind, straight forward, he didn’t sugar coat anything.
William is survived by his parents, Cheryl Melbourne of Poplar, MT and George Red Star of Pine Ridge, SD; wife JaTonna FourStar of Wolf Point, MT; his children’s mother Tasha Serawop; daughters, Brooke (James) Scott of Wolf Point, Peggy Melbourne of Salt Lake City, UT; son Billy Jack Serawop of Wolf Point,; grandchildren Easton Friskey, Weston Scott, Serenity Scott, Khalil Scott; brothers Floyd Martell III, Duane Martell of Poplar, Isiah Red Star and family of Wounded Knee, SD, Shayne Red Star and family of Sisseton, SD; sisters Elizabeth (Jeremy) Longee, Sr. and family of Poplar, Dawn (Jesse) Johnson and family of Poplar, Wilma (Patrick) Martell and family of Poplar, Sabrina (Robert) Pinkerton and family of Poplar, Charity Red Star and family of Wounded Knee; uncles Richard (Myra) Melbourne of Poplar, Lawrence Melbourne and family, Sam (DeAnna) Red Star and family of Poplar, Evans Red Star and family of Wolf Point, Levi Red Star and family of Rapid City, SD, Delbert Red Star and family of Rapid City, Joseph Red Star of Sioux Falls, SD; aunts Patricia Red Star and family of Wolf Point, Nancy Red Star and family of Poplar, Josephine Red Star and family of Billings, MT; special niece Iva Rose Longee; special grandpa Ray Lamb and grandma Beverly Lamb who took him in after being away so long. William is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews on the Melbourne-Martell and Red Star sides of the family.
William was preceded in death by his grandparents Wilma Melbourne and Richard Yellow Owl, Virginia Lame Dog and Paul Red Star Jr.; stepdad Floyd Martell Jr.; special friend Nicole Small; brother Billy Jack Martell; sister Lisa Martell; aunts Sandra Melbourne, Pauline Red Star; uncles Lyle Melbourne, Delmer Red Star; grandson Pierre Longee and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
