Byron Eugene Scott, age 47, of Poplar, passed away July 4, 2014 at NEMHS in Poplar. Byron was born on July 21, 1966 to Estelle Loves Him in Poplar. He was best known as “Gobby.”
He enjoyed walking around, fishing on the Poplar River, watching wrestling on TV, and Pow-Wows. Byron very much enjoyed visiting and helping people in any way possible. He loved spending time and taking care of his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He always had a smile and a wave for everyone he saw. Many described him as having a kind heart and he would make their day by making them laugh with his jokes. He loved to tease!
Byron lived in Miles City from 2003 to 2011 and worked at the Pine Hills Youth Detention Facility. While he was living and working in Miles City he would make ceramic figurines and give them as gifts to his family members.
Byron is survived by his mother Estelle Loves Him of Poplar. He is survived by sisters Carmela Scott of Nebraska, Annabelle Scott of Portland, OR, and Madlyn Scott of Poplar. Byron is survived by brothers Matthew Scott, Sr. and Duane Little Plume both of Poplar. He is survived by granddaughters Krystallyne Calftail of Hysham, Kloe Martell, Kimimela Scott, and Ailayah Scott. He is survived by grandsons Walter Loves Him, Elwayne Rush, Jr., Willard Loves Him, Ambrose MacKay, Landyn Burshia, Michael Loves Him, Carlo Carillo, and Abraham Lona. Byron is survived by nieces Joilynn Loves Him, Amber Calftail, Edna Loves Him, Deona Scott, Diane McKay, Orvella McKay, Christina Lona, Verla Loves Him, Vonkay Loves Him, Pearl Scott, as well as Audrea, Miranda, Mattie, and Sue Scott.
Byron is survived by nephews Andrew Scott, Frank Scott, Emory Loves Him, Luke Scott, Dustin Scott, and Matthew Scott, Jr.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Wilbur and Amelia Lester Loves Him and Melvin Scott, sister Annette Scott and Lavina Scott. He was preceded in death by Evelyn Loves Him Scott and uncles Steve Loves Him, Orville Loves Him, and aunts Madeline Loves Him, and Rebecca Loves Him Owens.

To my brother. I remember when he left the rez to go to Job Corp. A friend I ran into in SD knew him. I wish that this didn’t happen, but I have a few new memories to keep. I’ll always miss him. He’ll always be my Lil’ Brother.
