Caroll was born in Fairview, Montana on May 31, 1937, the daughter of Carl and Mary Pennell. They lived on a farm south of Culbertson until they moved to town when she started school. She graduated from Culbertson High School.
Caroll married Rodney Iverson January 12, 1957. She was active in the Community of Christ church and played the piano for services for 57 years. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years. She was also a member of Women’s Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Cottonwood Club and Sweet Adelines. Mom enjoyed visiting family, knitting, crosswords, reading her Bible, listening to music, and cooking for others.
Caroll started working at the Searchlight when she was in high school, and later the McCormick Café and telephone office. After her children graduated, she worked as an aide in the kitchen at the Culbertson School, and as a cook at the Wild West Diner, Roosevelt Memorial Hospital, and Senior Citizens.
Mom’s faith was very important to her. She was a true disciple for her Lord. When she went into the nursing home, she was there to welcome new residents, quick to say hi to others, and pray with the staff and residents when they needed a little help.
Caroll went to meet her Lord on Thursday, February 27th, 2020. She had a great love for her family. She is survived by her three girls, Irene (Carl) Thuesen of Billings, Mae (Ward) Hecock of Shelby, and Bev (Terril) Raaum of Culbertson, 7 grandchildren – Ben, Katie, Jake, Jason, Alicia, Jennesy, and Jamie; 12 great-grandchildren – Addison, Kaden, Jaclynne, Harper, Paxton, Sophia, Lacey, Delaney, Jonathan, Carson, Oliver, and Molly; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Pennell. Her parents, Carl and Mary, brother Tommy, sister Eileen, brother-in-law Duane, and brother Ronald preceded her in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 3, 2020 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements and condolences for the family may be left using the form below.
