Connie Jean Crowe-Smith tragically left this earthly world on December 15, 2020. This was her eldest son Eddy O. Jrs’ 40th birthday.
Connie Jean was born on December 22, 1958 to Nelson James Crowe and Elizabeth Ruby Red Boy at Poplar community hospital. She spent her life in Poplar attending school, living life and eventually marrying her best friend Eddy O. Smith Sr. on January 27th 1979. In 1982 they moved to Riverside where they’ve resided since.
Their first son Edward Orval, Jr was born on December 15,1980. Followed by Dustin William on January 10th, 1985. They joined their older sister Carrie Lee.
Connie worked for many years with the BIA, then switching employment with the Fort Peck Tribes. She retired when health issues got to be too much.
Connie, Eddy, Sister Edna & Brother Mike & sister in law Lovena were awesome bowlers in their hey day. Winning many trophies in tournaments.
Connie enjoyed crocheting at one time, creating many beautiful projects. Most notably was a huge blanket for her son Eddy Jr with a huge four leaf clover in the middle for their beloved Boston Celtics.
Connie & family enjoyed all sitting down to watch the Celtics play and cheer. She thoroughly enjoyed when friends would show up to visit and reminisce, especially enjoying Elmer and Kristie’s fish frys and karaoke nights. Connie hosted many holidays and birthdays in her home.
During the summers the family could all be found down at the river fishing and enjoying family time with Mom Bette.
The family thanks everyone for the prayers and condolences and acts of kindness after our tragic loss, they will never be forgotten.

No words at this time can be said that would ease the pain that comes when Jesus calls his sheep home. We are told that heaven is a blessed place and that we will see our loved ones again but at this time, you don’t want comforting words, you want your beloved family member to be alive and beside you, I am at a loss for words, for once in my life, I am shocked beyond beyond. I remember that I use to bowl w/Connie & Eddy on league nights at MK Lanes in Poplar, I use to work w/her there, back in the day, around 1974, as that was the year I graduated from Poplar High School is why I remember the year. When Connie put her mind to it, she would make those bowling pins scream, when she threw her strike ball, enit Constance? Then time flew by so fast, it seems, now I know why you were always on my mind before the accident, I am sorry for not stopping by to visit you, I knew you would have welcomed me w/open arms, while we sit and visit about our bowling days. I guess we will have to catch up on our bowling when we see each other in Heaven, hopefully I make it there one day! Until that glorious day, I can only pray we will all meet again. May the Lord be with each and everyone at this time of need.
