On the morning of October 8th 2015, Diane Marie Corne went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 70 years old. Diane was born in Poplar, MT on July 13th, 1945 to John and Marie O’Connor(Ranf). She attended Poplar schools and graduated in 1963. During her High School years she was active in cheerleading, tumbling and pep club.
After Graduation she worked at the family business, the Korner Bar, before moving to Billings to attend the Hollywood Beauty School. She worked in Billings for a short time as a hair dresser before moving home to Poplar where she worked for Patty Lynn’s Beauty Shop.
On November 26, 1965 Diane married Warren “Butch” Corne at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Poplar Montana. To this union 3 daughters were born, Nonette, Deonne and Tyree.
Butch and Diane moved to Gillette Wyoming for a short time where he worked in the oil fields. They returned home where Butch worked as a mechanic for the Standard Station. In 1968 they bought the station from Chris Tange which came to be known as “Butch’s Exxon.” They continued to own and operate the station until 2011.
Diane always wanted to travel and one of her dreams was to go to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Which she did the summer of 2014 to attend a destination wedding. She was currently making plans to travel to Pennsylvania to visit her baby brother Darrell and his wife Virginia. She was looking forward to seeing their new home. She was also hoping to go on an Alaskan Cruise this November to celebrate her 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Diane was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. When visiting old friends or new acquaintances she would take the opportunity to mention that 2 of her daughters were nurses and the youngest was a massage therapist, who had been voted “Best” in Helena 3 years running.
Diane loved serving her Lord and was extremely devoted to her faith. She had been very active in the church teaching CCD classes, participating in Bible Study and serving as a Eucharistic minister.
Diane is survived by her husband Butch and children Nonette (Thomas), Deonne (Dan), Tyree (Randy) and Thailen. Her grandchildren Anthony, Derek, Taylor, Ty, Johnathon, Jason, Blayne, Garrett and Hunter. Her siblings Wanda Trihub of Bozeman Mt, Bob(Donna) Ranf of Missoula Mt, Darrell(Virginia) Ranf of Pennsylvania and Joni(Ron) Sherwood of Texas.
She was proceeded in death by her father John O’Connor, her Dad J.W. Ranf , her mother Marie Ranf and brother Doodle.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, soft spoken voice and gentle touch.
