Delores Marie Pederson, age 77, of Wolf Point, MT was born on January 29, 1935 in Sidney, Montana. She passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point.
Delores grew up and graduated from high school in Sidney. She attended college at Billings Eastern for two years where she received a teaching degree. While teaching she spent summers continuing her education. One summer, she with her best friend Virginia went to school in Mexico City where they had many adventures. She finished her BA in education in Havre.
In 1955, Delores and Virginia began teaching in Wolf Point. Delores taught 3rd and 4th grade for 30 years. She loved teaching and teasing her students.
Upon retirement, there was more time for travel. One particular road trip to Alaska in an old rented RV gave Delores and Virginia opportunities to go white water rafting and salmon fishing. They also enjoyed Hawaii, an ocean cruise, and visiting Miami with family. Delores followed all the Wolves sporting activities, especially basketball. If there was any event going on in Wolf Point, Delores and Virginia attended and supported those. Summer was a busy time with gardening and yard work. Delores was very proud of their beautiful yard but hated fall leaves with a passion.
Delores’ Faith and love of God was strong. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wolf Point.
Delores was a wonderful friend and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her best friend, Virginia Fink of Wolf Point; sister, Kay (Bill) Decker of Nevada; niece, Kelly Jo (David) Robertson of Nevada; great niece, Kelsey; great nephew, Walker Robertson; nephew, Steven(Kristen) Walker of Nevada; great nieces, Ava and Brenna; and great nephew, Nickolas Walker.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Orven and La Vetta Pederson.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 13 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Virginia, my thoughts and prayers are with you each day. I will never forget Miss Pederson, not to say that sometimes she scared the crap out of me in grade school but was always so kind to me as a child and as I became an adult. I will miss her as I drive by your home. I can only imagine how much you miss her. Thinking of you always

Dear Miss Fink, Kay and all of the Family,
I am so sorry to hear that Miss Pederson passed away. I will always hold dear the time I spent in her classroom and the years we taught together in Wolf Point. She is still my favorite teacher of all time. She and Mrs. Wilkenson made 4th grade a happier place to be. Her sense of humor and warm smile…what a wonderful person!
I will not forget the day I interviewed with you, Kay, for a position in Fallon. When you asked me for a ride to your sister’s house and I asked who she was…I knew if I worked with you, it would be okay to be so far from home.
God bless all of you and know that I will hold you in my prayers.

Miss Fink I am so sorry that you have lost your best friend. I’m afraid that her and my relationship during school was not as good as mine was with you in the 2nd grade. But I do know how it feels to lose someone close to you. I will keep you in my prayers.
