At about 5:03 am on Friday, April 21, 2016, Bette succumbed to a long term illness and went to meet her God.
Elizabeth Marie DuBois was born on April 6, 1928 in Nishu, North Dakota to Virginia and Norman DuBois. At a very young age she and her Sister Emma (Boots) were sent to boarding school at the Marty Mission Catholic Boarding School in South Dakota. While working in Spokane, Washington, Betty meet and was married to Charles C. Darby, they had four children, Sandra Lee, Patricia Louise, Charles (Jr.) and Eileen Ann. Bette lost her son Michael Scott at birth. Bette later married John Pamer in Indiana where they met. Both husbands predeceased Betty and by 2008 she was widowed.
Bette is survived by her sister Boots Wallette, her daughters Sandie and husband Richard Englund, Patricia and husband W Michael Brown and Eileen and husband Charles Merry. Also Betty shared a special bond with her nieces Marilyn Kay Wallette, Tina Magnan, Rita Allie and nephews Martin, Karl, Greg Wallette. Bette had many grandchildren Jerry Tomhave, Corey, Kerry, Craig, and Chrissie and Englund and Natalie and Beth Ann Merry and Kevin Barley. Bette was preceded in death by her parents; Brothers lost Patrick, Henry and Joseph; and Sisters Mary Louise and Cecelia. Virginia (Ginny) Shackelford with whom they shared a special sisterly bond”.
Bette was a devout member of the Catholic Church. She had deep and abiding love for the Church and clergy. Betty always felt drawn to help people and worked at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Wolf Point as a Nurse’s Aide. And in 1973, she completed training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She met and married her husband John while employed at the rest home in Milford, Indiana. Upon retirement, Bette and John returned to live out their lives here in Wolf Point. Bette enjoyed spending time with family members and she enjoyed a really good laugh. This lead her to enjoy her special moments with all of them.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at the King Memorial Cemetery in Wolf Point. Condolences for the family may be left using the form below.

The kids and I are deeply saddened by your passing. You are now pain free and are in the arms of your heavenly father just like you wanted. I will miss our conversations and visits. May you rest in peace. And do a few fly bys now and then to check up on us now that you have your beautiful wings! Love you dearly and it was a honor being your extra daughter!!
