James Leonard Reinhart, age 81, of Wolf Point, Montana passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, MT after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
He was born February 28, 1938 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Lawrence & Catherine (Reding) Reinhart.
He graduated school in New Ulm and joined the Air Force. While stationed at the Glasgow Air Force Base, he made several trips to Wolf Point, where he met the love of his life, Reita Brookman. She was a waitress at the Sweet Shoppe in Wolf Point. While dating, Reita, Jim talked her into joining the Catholic Church. Both were very active in the church. Dad was exceptionally proud to be a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Honorary Life Member.
They married June 11, 1960. They moved to the country to raise their 3 children, Joe, Cathy & Christina. Jim made his living farming and ranching and helped his father-in-law, Marvin Brookman, take care of his rodeo livestock. He drove school bus for the Frontier Elementary School district for over 42 years. He also spent some time helping his dear friend, Jim Rodenburg at his honey bee and honey farm. Together they delivered the bees to Las Vegas for the winter. While traveling, they stopped to attend the National Finals Rodeo.
Reita passed away April 29, 2007 and left a void in his heart that nothing could fill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Reita, two brothers, Hank and Tom Reinhart, both parents, Lawrence and Catherine Reinhart, Nephew, Aron Allen, Sister-in-law, Cleita Ashley and her husband Jim Ashley.
He is survived by his three children, Joe (Tammy) Reinhart, Cathy (Dave) Wieferich and Christina (Dean) Steinley, 5 granddaughters, Latasha and Tesa Wieferich, Hunter Reinhart, Pilar (Brian) Kuntz and Mattie Steinley; 2 grandsons, Tate Wieferich and William Steinley, 3 Great Grandaughters and 2 Great Grandson, sister-in-laws, Dianne Reinhart and Ramona Reinhart,

Our deepest sympathy to Jim’s family. Jim and Reita were wonderful people and they raised wonderful children. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Pr. Christine Holler-Dinsmore says
Deepest sympathy to all of the family. Jim was a gentle giant. His proclamation of the Word at Mass was always special. He blessed us with apples from the trees at the farm. He always had a warm smile and good word when we saw him at church and the home. He loved music. His love for Reita was so obvious. May the love of God, and care of friends and family bring healing and peace. You and yours are held in prayer. Pr.s Greg and Chris

I had met Jim while he was living in Sidney for a short time. He would come to our Knights meeting and I think he was at a few Cum Christos during that time. What a smile and a good laugh he always had. He was so proud of you girls… He was a true gentle man in many ways. So sorry to hear he is gone but wont be forgotten by many. God has a good one. Sympathies to you all on the loss of dad and grandpa Jim. About 14 years ago we came out to dad and moms ranch and had a great visit mom cooked us a huge chicken dinner (which was totally unexpected). We went to the rodeo and watched some of your rodeo stock perform and met your grandpa Marvin. It was a wonderful family vacation for us. I have great childhood memories of playing with you guys at Tom and Dianne’s in New Ulm.
Hope all is well with you and your families.
Sincerely
