James Leroy (Jim) Sansaver of Golden Valley, Minn, formerly of Wolf Point, passed away at his home September 19, 2014 of natural causes. Jim was born January 13, 1935 in Poplar, Montana. He was raised in Wolf Point graduating from Wolf Point High School. He attended Gonzaga, Carroll College and graduated from the University of Montana with a Degree in Law.
He was selected by the Government and honored to attend the University of Virginia where he received an additional Master Degree in Business.
At Carroll College he met Kathleen Elaine Willis and the two were married April 2, 1956 in Wolf Point. From this union came 4 children, Michael James, Cynthia Marie, Alexa Terese, and Christopher James.
Jim practiced Law in various places, was County Attorney in Chester, Montana and taught High School for a short time. Jim worked for the US Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs for over 35 years. He was extremely proud to work on behalf of the Indian Affairs and met and made lifelong friends among the Tribal Leaders across the United States. He was assigned as the Secretary to the Secretary of Interior in Washington, DC.
Having a great interest in sports he was Basketball Manager in High School. Jim enjoyed playing and watching Tennis and Basketball. He also enjoyed playing and watching game shows, anything that challenged his mind.
Jim loved his Catholic Faith and had a special devotion to the Divine Mercy. He was honored to be invited to the Presidents National Prayer Breakfast for many years highlighted by his loving parents Roy & Mary Sansaver once getting to attend wit he and Kathleen.
Jim will be greatly missed by his entire family who so enjoyed his really good sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Kathleen, Sons Michael (Martha), of Fairfax, Virginia, daughter Alexa (Brad) Mountfort , of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Chris of Golden Valley, Minn., granddaughter Bethany Sansaver, Grandsons Benjamin Sansaver, Jameson Mountfort all three presently attending college. Jim is also survived by brothers Paul (Nancy) Sansaver, Don (Lavonne), Sansaver, Sisters Mary Ann Verwolf, and Donna (Roger) Wimmer. Jim was predeceased by his loving parents Roy & Mary Sansaver and His daughter Cynthia Marie Sansaver; and brother in law, Tom Verwolf.
A Prayer Service will be held Friday October 3 at 7:00 P.M. at Clayton Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Service Saturday October 4 at 2:00 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Parish in Wolf Point with Fr. Julian Nix officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Jim worked in my father’s store, The Fad, back in the 50’s in Wolf Point. He will be remembered as a wonderful young man who always did his best. He had a great work ethic, which showed up throughout his life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.
