June D. Shyface, age 68, of Poplar, MT passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Billings Clinic.
June was born on June 15, 1944 in Poplar to Andrew Shyface and Ester King. June attended school in Poplar and Pierre, SD. She married William “Bill” Hawk, they later divorced but remained friends up until his passing. She worked at the Buck Horn Restaurant in Poplar for many years. She also worked at the senior site in Poplar. She enjoyed making star quilts. June raised her 5 grandsons and supported JaRay in his school activates, she enjoyed watching him. June enjoyed visiting with her many friends and relatives, playing bingo and the machines. She always had a smile on her face and helped many people.
June was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Irvin and Emil; sister, Charlotte White Hawk; son, James Calder; and a granddaughter, Cricket Lonebear.
She is survived by her sisters, Marie (Edmond) Clark, Karen Lavendar, Delores (Sterling) Red Eagle and Mary Ann Greybull; brothers, John Lavender, Pat Lavender, and Dickie Yellow Owl; daughters, Kimberly McDonald and Patty Shyface; sons, Darrell Shyface and Marlin Shyface; grandsons, Aaron Battiest, JaRay Battiest, Ashly Shyface, Marcus Battiest, Duncan McDonald, and Dakota Shyface; and granddaughters, Amerah Smith, Barbara Shyface, Lacey Lonebear, Sunni Ricker, Victoria Shyface and Hilary Andraschko.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior, Tuesday, January 8 at the Poplar LDS Church in Poplar. Interment will follow at the Poplar City Cemetery in Poplar.
