Kathleen “Kathie” Eagle Forrest, 50, of Wolf Point, MT left her loved ones behind on the evening of March 7, 2014 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Kathie left this world and was met by all those who were waiting for her, with her loving Loren at her bedside.
Kathie was born in Poplar, MT on January 10, 1964 to Conrad Messelt and Geraldine Eagle-Eder. She was raised by her grandparents, Frank and Mary Eagle at the family home in Riverside on Eagle Hill. Kathie attended schools in Poplar, MT and in Fresno, CA. She returned back to Montana in 1978 and met the love of her life, Loren Lyle Forrest in 1980. To this union came three children, Theresa Lynn, Curtis James, and Jordan Alan. Kathie became a grandmother on June 29, 2000 when Kobe Jay was born. She loved him so very much and had a hand in helping raise him as well as “Sissy” and “Sean B”.
In her earlier years, she worked at the Silver Wolf Casino until she became a C.N.A. in 1995. She was a devoted employee at Faith Lutheran Home where she worked for 17 years, retiring in December 2012 due to her illness.
Kathie loved spending time with all of her grandchildren; each held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed attending bingo, playing machines, listening to music, and cruising. She faithfully watched Days of Our Lives, WWE Wrestling, Rehab Addict, Law and Order, Wheel of Fortune, and the UP Network. She was a strong woman. Even through her illness, she had a great sense of humor and was a very loving and caring woman with a fire cracker personality.
She is survived by her husband, Loren of Wolf Point; daughter, Theresa Lynn of Wolf Point; sons, Curtis James and Jordan Alan both of Wolf Point; grandchildren, Kobe Silk, Trenton Hamilton, Katriel, Sean, Dane, and Alaya Forrest and Kailei Jackson all of Wolf Point; brother, Llewellyn Eagle of Wolf Point; aunts, Darlene Youpee of Poplar, and Nellie “Sally” Sood of Oakland, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and sister in laws.
Kathie was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine; father, Conrad; brother, Raymond Messelt; and sister, Edna R. Eagle.
Mom, our hearts hurt more than ever now that you’re gone. But we will find peace knowing you are no longer suffering and in pain. We love you, until we meet again. –Love, your loving Baby Girl.
