Kevin David Heser, age 16, went home to be with his mother and sister on November 1, 2014 after a courageous 3 year battle with GBM brain cancer. Kevin was born along with his twin brother Andrew on November 2, 1997 in Great Falls, Montana to Chad Heser and Reanna Lambert.
Though they were born 13 weeks premature and had to spend the first two months of their lives in the hospital, Kevin and Andrew grew up like normal kids. The first three years of Kevin’s life were spent in Wolf Point before moving to Billings. It was in Billings that brother Logan and sister Amanda were both welcomed into the family. The move back to Wolf Point halfway through his kindergarten year meant a return home and the start of memories both good and bad. The summer after moving home Kevin had to endure his first heartache when his sister Amanda passed away in July 2004.
Kevin loved sports and played baseball and basketball with his brothers as often as he could. The twins started playing basketball on a traveling team with their friends and this led to them making many friendships outside of Wolf Point. Kevin also enjoyed going hunting, fishing, riding bike, swimming, driving the RZR, and playing video games with his brothers, friends, and family.
Kevin was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor at the Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver in December 2011. Throughout the surgery and multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy Kevin always had a positive attitude and wasn’t held back by his cancer. He continued to go to school and play basketball and do all the things he loved all the way up until a month ago when he started experiencing symptoms that prevented him from doing a lot of things. In October of 2013 Kevin started a relationship with his girlfriend Lisa. They had a love that through all the ups and downs of the last year continued until Kevin’s last day. In November 2013, Kevin had to endure yet another heartbreak when he lost his mother Reanna in a tragic ATV accident.
In January 2014 during an MRI checkup in Denver it was discovered the tumor was spreading. A trip to L.A. led to Kevin trying Novocure TTF therapy. In February Kevin gained some independence when he and Andrew obtained their driver’s licenses. Kevin enjoyed trips with the family and Lisa to Las Vegas for Monster Jam World Finals monster truck racing. He also went to California in June with his family, Lisa, the Garfields, and the Blevins. The trip included stops at Disneyland, Sea World, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, and the ocean. Kevin had a rich and enjoyable life and he always had a smile on his face and brought happiness to all of those around him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Reanna and sister Amanda.
Kevin is survived by his father Chad; brothers Andrew and Logan; girlfriend Lisa Huber; grandparents Ken and Agnes Heser; Aunt and Uncle Darci and Wayne Brown; cousins Sam Hentges, Azalea Toavs, and Sierra Hentges; extended family Beau, Nellie, Abel and Julie Garfield; along with other numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chad and family, there is no other loss as tragic as losing a child as you know. The hardest part is not knowing the “why’s”. Having him in your life for 16 years is but a drop in eternity. Kevin will be alive in your hearts and memories. Keep talking about him and his journey. Share who is was and know that his life had a purpose. He touched many others across this country as his life unfolded and journey continued. God Bless you all!
