Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend started her journey with The Lord on January 16th, 2021. Lana Lee (Sargent, Lambert) Mikkelsen (Jingle Dress Woman) was one of the most hardworking, selfless, caring women who did everything in her willpower to lend help to those in need.
Lana was born 47 years ago to Annette “Ann” Lambert and Wyman Sargent on August 6th, 1973 in Poplar, Montana. Lana was also mainly raised by her maternal grandparents Bernard “Barney” Lambert Sr. and Sybil (Bighorn) Lambert. As she got older Lana attended both Poplar and Brockton schools, graduating with her diploma from Brockton High School in 1991. After a brief stay at Rocky Mountain College, she graduated with multiple associates from Fort Peck Community College.
In her short life Lana held multiple positions, both formal and voluntary. She mainly loved working with and for people, and being a youth advocate. Among these many jobs include the numerous years at Fort Peck Housing Authority in different positions and most recently as the Recruitment Officer at Fort Peck Community College.
In 1998 Lana married her best friend Lars-Inge Mikkelsen and one year later welcomed their first child Joseph John Lewis on November 1st, 1999. Shortly after Lars started wishing for a baby girl and his prayers were answered when they were blessed with their twin girls Jacie Payton Jo and Kristina Irene Marie on December 8th, 2001. Lana could not wait to be a grandmother and she got her wish when her son welcomed his daughter Cedar Jane Mikkelsen October 23rd.
Lana’s family and friends will always remember her as a strong willed, compassionate, respectful, hardworking person who always did everything she could to help those in need.
Lana is preceded in death by her parents Wyman Sargent, Annette “Ann” Lambert, maternal grandparents Bernard “Barney” Lambert Sr and Sybil “Bighorn” Lambert, uncles Bernard “Big B” Lambert Jr., Maurice “Moose” Lambert, aunts Tammy (Lambert) Nygard and Grace Lambert. Cousin, Jessica (Parker) Renville and granddaughter Avery Mikkelsen. She is survived by her husband Lars Mikkelsen, her children, Joseph (Cheyenne) Mikkelsen, Jacie and Kristina Mikkelsen, Aunts, Bernadine Pease of Billings, MT; Susan (Val) Parker of Wolf Point, MT. Uncle, Ernest Joe “EJ” (Tammy) Lambert of Belcourt, ND. Mother In-Law, Vigdis (Kjell) Nesgard of Tønsberg, Norway, Father In-Law, Leif Erik (Ingrid) Mikkelsen of Oslo, Norway and Brother In-Law Torgeir (Marte) Mikkelsen and family of Nøtterøy, Norway. Lana is also survived by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.
Our loving “Wana Wee” will be missed greatly but is reunited with her grandparents whom she often talked about. We love you and will miss your although very contagious yet wonderful laugh. Everything you taught us is forever instilled in our hearts.
