Lori Sexton-Toews, 54 of Wolf Point, was called home suddenly to be with our Lord Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She leaves behind a wonderful husband, Herb and his extended family-Les (Helen), Josh (Bethany), Kristin (Mike) and numerous grandchildren, her loving parents Wally and Earlene, devoted sister Melissa and many amazing aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was born in Wolf Point, MT on November 16, 1961. She was raised on a small farm south of Wolf Point. She received her grade school education in Vida and Frontier School and graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1980. She earned an Associate Degree from UND in Williston, ND. Her career started at the Roosevelt County Treasurer’s Office where she spent 18 years, 5 years elected as Treasurer. She also served as President of the Montana County Treasurer’s. At the time of her death she was working as an Assistant Clerk at Poplar Schools.
During her time at Roosevelt County she married her husband Herb on February 15, 1997. She always knew he was the most kind-hearted generous man and they were happily married for 19 years.
She was so talented with crafts. She could create a masterpiece from a few ribbons, a little tulle, flowers or even candy! She turned this talent into a business, opening a store in Wolf Point where she even did singing telegrams! After she sold that, she went to craft bazaars and fairs all over NE Montana selling jewelry, purses and other items. Many times she would drag her parents and sister along to help pack all those boxes. She loved camping at fort Peck, watching movies, going to concerts and baking. She made incredible cupcakes and cookies. She loved traveling and shopping (mostly for more craft supplies) and made many trips with her mother. She and her sister were very close and when you would see Lori, Melissa was not far behind. She loved children, especially babies. She received great joy when she could be with her grandkids Lorilei, Caleb, Ty, Jacob, Adam and Maggie. Her soul lit with joy when she held a baby on her lap.
She had the biggest, most tender loving heart a person could have. She was generous, loyal and an incredible listener. She was quiet, yet stubborn and determined. If she wanted to accomplish something she worked hard until she accomplished her goals. She always had a smile on her face and while she hated her round rosy cheeks, her family loved to tease her about her “puggy” cheeks. She loved her friends dearly and with her sweet gentle manner, she had many.
She was preceded in death by her grea-grandparents and grandparents.
We will miss her dearly here on Earth, our hearts are breaking, but Heaven must be rejoicing to welcome our beautiful Angel Lori.
