Vesta Lorraine Sievers, 91, of Vida, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Home in Wolf Point, Montana. Lorraine was born January 22, 1925 in Cassville Wisconsin, daughter of Samuel and Lavina Blum.
She grew up in Wisconsin, and later met the love of her life, Dan Sievers of Vida in 1944. They later married in Mancaster, Wisconsin on August 7, 1946. Their early years were spent serving at the Sunshine Mission in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Here Lorraine enjoyed singing with Dan at the mission and on the radio. Later in 1953 they moved back to Vida where she worked as a loving mother, school janitor, baby sitter, and tutor. They were also involved in the Assembly of God churches in Wolf Point and Circle, Montana.
Lorraine was an avid reader who enjoyed singing gospel songs, playing the accordion and other instruments, gardening, and canning. Her generous spirit loved sharing the fruits of her labor with others. She was always ready with a quick, playful smile.
Lorraine is survived by her four children: Daryl (Brenda) Sievers of Wolf Point, MT, Sharon (Pete) Seilhymer of Buckeye AZ, Karen (Mark) Moran of Laurel, MT, and Duane (Dawn) Sievers of Vaughn, MT. She loved her family very much, which consists of 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 4 great greatgrandchildren.

I so enjoyed visiting with Lorraine at the home when I would visit my dad. She had a gentle smile. My favorite memory of her was about a month ago her son was there visiting at the same time my sister and I were there. She held hands with her son and walked to the rockers, when they were both comfortably seated, she held his hand and gently laid her head on his arm and snuggled for the longest time. Peaceful is what comes to mind when I think of that evening. My sister used her sons camera and took their picture.
It reminded me of a children’s story entitled I’ll love you forever.
My condolences to the family of Lorraine.
