Marianne Marottek, 78, passed away at NEMHS in Poplar on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
Marianne was born on August 8, 1942 at home to Everette and Katherine Davis in Peerless, MT. Attended schools in Peerless and Wolf Point, MT. She married Delbert (Pete) Marottek on August 12, 1967. Joining them were Jackie, Judy, Connie, Ronnie and Sandra making them a blended family. Later born into the family were Laurie and Leann. In 1993 Marianne and Pete adopted their grandson, Lance.
She was a homemaker and a great bartender. She enjoyed having coffee with friends, making new friends, loved to dance, a great cook and could put out a meal in record time for whoever might be at the table. I don’t think anyone ever left her house hungry. When the kids were younger, they have fond memories of her making yummy cinnamon rolls for an after-school snack. It was a race to the house to see who could get the warmest ones, it’s amazing that none of us were injured. We as her children appreciate what a strong woman she was to take on the job of raising all of us and that as far as anyone knows we are a nice normal family! In later years she was especially close to her grandson, Jessie and great granddaughter Braelyn who spent a lot of time with her. We love you Mom and will miss you!
She is survived by one brother, Mick (Sue) Davis, sons Ronald Bushman, Lance Marottek and daughters Jackie (Gary) Grainger, Judy Strauser, Connie Forest, Sandra (Paul) Barkhoff, and Leann Marottek, 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Marianne is preceded in death by her parents, Everette and Katherine Davis, husband, Delbert (Pete) Marottek, brothers, Calvin, Larry, and Walter Davis, daughter Laura Tollefson, son, Donald Bushman, granddaughter Jennifer Forest.
