Mary Griswold O’Connor passed away December 16, 2014 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Montana. Mary was born August 3, 1918 in Poplar, MT to parents Luther “Pat” Griswold and Lillian Ashmore. On May 16, 1937 she married the love of her life Daniel O’Connor in Lewistown, MT. In 1943 they moved to Tule Creek and to the current home place in 1952 where they raised their family. Mary will be remembered by many for the “Cowboy Mustard” which she made and would sell at the flea markets in Poplar. Mary was a member of the Far Out Homemakers from its beginning. Mary also ran the café at the old Jesse’s Supper Club when Al and Jewel Hood owned it. Mary enjoyed ceramic classes in the 70’s at Lorene Roberts. Mary also enjoyed fixing hair for the ladies at Faith Lutheran Home right up until the time of her death and helping make quilts with the church ladies at First Lutheran Church.
The family is grateful to Eileen Atwood for being such a good friend to Mary and for taking her to lunch at the Senior Citizens.
Mary is survived by her daughter Donna Mann of Wolf Point, her sons Pat (Rita) of Miles City and Mike (Sharon) of Wolf Point. She is survived by her grandchildren Scott (Traci) of Colorado Springs, CO, Casey (Tammy) of Lamar, AR, Shannon Dowse (Dean) of Miles City, Shane (Anne) of Vine Grove, KY, Rory (Kim) of Missoula and Marvin Mann. She leaves 9 great grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 7 step-great great grandchildren, and former daughter-in-law Sonya O’Connor of Phoenix, AZ.
She is preceded in death by Dan, her husband of 69 years, daughter Rosie, son-in-laws Ralph Mann and Bill Robertson, grandchildren Lynn Mann, Chris O’Connor, and Brady Robertson, her parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be at the First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point at 2:00 on December 20, 2014. Her remains have been cremated and will be spread at the family ranch at a later date.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Your mother lived a full life and you all can be thankful for her longevity. Your folks and mine were good friends and I still recall visiting at your house on the Scobey road and being around all of you. Your mom was a great cook.
